Day 5 - Looking to Day 7 to Reward Myself

Ok, I am being very optimistic and super positive. I have decided that on Sunday (my first 7 days of being smoke free) I am going to reward myself with something and will continue to do so every Sunday after that I remain smoke-free. Why not???? Think about it, a pack of cigarettes here in NC are almost $6 a pack (that's a saving of $24-$30 a week for me!!!---OMG!!). If I can reward myself with a manicure, lunch out, or going to a movie it will give me something to look forward to and work towards since I normally dont do these things now because of that "nasty addiction".

I am into Day 5 and it has gotten easier and can't wait till Day 7 when I can say to myself as well as the world "Hey, I made it a week & I'm gonna win this battle".

rewards is good!

you could put it in a jar where only you know where it is and watch it grow.

Hi Nanci, I did that.  Spent the money that i would have spent on cigs as a reward, bought some makeup, went to starbucks, etc.  Was fun and you deserve it!

Attagirl Nanci. You should reward yourself.

How about this...you have your week reward & then you save it for a month reward. You continue to accumulate more for the next major milestone. Six months next & then a year. As your milestones increase in value so too does your reward.

Just a thought. The main thing is protecting the quit at ANY cost.

Keep up the good work,

I say save it in a jar and get yourself something really huge at the end of six months! Or you could get an awesome pair of shoes every month!  That's what I plan on doing.  But I am a shoe whore.

It's your money, save it or spend it on whatever you wish.  After all, it was though your efforts that the money is in your pocket.  Monetary rewards go right along with all the other rewards that not smoking brings you!

You will be surprized to discover some of the unexpected rewards you will find on your journey.  Keep striving...

I bought a pair of diamond stud earrings for my 1st anniversary of my quit date! Perhaps you could save half and save the rest for a big milestone.

Either way, ti's a wonderful thing to reward yourself. Whatever works!
