So - today was day 5 and let me tell you it was trying, but I DID NOT give in. . . I did cry a bit, but overcame that quickly, and took some deep breaths and began again. I did notice I was a little more quick to react - and had to take a deep breath, I bought a lottery ticket at my favorite stop (where I would buy my cig's) and I made it through that, I got home and I totalled up the hours of smoke free on the calendar and I sit here and say THANK YOU I MADE IT THROUGH!
I have started to share my "quitting" with people who are closest to me, I was a "closet smoker" so not everyone knew. The support is overwhelming. My thoughts on today is - I made it through - and did not smoke - if I can face the challenges of today - I can face tomorrow and remain smoke free - no one said it was easy - but find i found supports and dug deep and I DID IT!
You can too - this page is so helpful because one of the things I thought about was - when I get home I can't wait to post - blah blah - writing is a good release of the stressors - I am over it - I am onto enjoying my smoke free evening, and some relaxation. I hope you find this helpful and thank you in advance for reading and sharing your suggestions of support - I need them. Peace
