Day 46 of my quit

For all of the years of trying, this is finally it.  I've run across many of my journal entries from past years and New Year's resolutions that cite quitting smoking as one of my greatest priorities.  I'm tired of writing the same goal over and over and feeling disappointed with myself for not being strong enough to do it.  It has been reassuring to read that quitting is not dependent on pure will power, as I have tried to do so many times.  It's also comforting to see the lack of judgement and acceptance within this community and to feel that I am in such good company.  I am very grateful that you all are there.  Here goes, wish me continued luck...

About the Author
I am recently retired and smoked for about 33 years. I was successful in quitting once, for 8 years, another for a year and recently for 8 months. My dream is to pull this off in retirement and become the respectable EX elder that I know I can be.
