Day 4 (or 5?) Quit!

Today is the first day that feels easier since my quit day (technically I threw my vape away and put on the patch last Thurs at 5 pm, hence the ? for my day count- it just depends on how you count ‘em).

I’ve been using the patch since I began, and for my first couple of days I also used the gum when experiencing strong cravings. On day three, I started delaying using the gum as much as I could and trying other techniques to get me through my cravings. Deep breathing, distracting myself, getting on this site, playing a video game on my phone, etc. It has gotten better, and today I haven’t used nicotine gum at all!

Less irritable today, too... thank god

So today, wed., you have 5 DOf!!! Congratulations on that!!! You are doing your quit like I did mine. I put on a patch sun. night in preparation to no smoke mon. morning. I used nicotine lozenges the first week-5-6/day.. You will have easier days and moments, and then some really tough times, but, at the same time, it will get better and better (if that makes any sense) going forward. What I mean is, you will still have some pretty tough craves but gradually, they become less frequent and intensity won't be as bad.

Keep doing what you're doing, and you will be successful.

You can always check your number of days by going to your page (click on your avatar), and the last item under "Actions" - top right -  is Quit Stat Pop-Up (or something like that).  If your quit date is correct of 10/4 - you are now 5 days and 14 hours quit!

Congratulations on that!

Keep going!
