Day 4 and starting a cough?

TV-Lasttime24-7

I'm on day 4 and my throat is starting to itch and cough, is that normal.  Either way I still feel good about not smoking.  I still feel detemined to stay strong along with all of you who are in the same boat as I.  I kind feel like my chest is starting to hurt a little bit, maybe cause all the toxins are starting to exit.  I hope that is the reason for this.  Let's continue this uphill battle and stay strong together!!!!!

I've noticed that I seem to be couging more now that I quit than I did while I was still smoking. I'm with you in hoping that this is just my body getting rid of the bad stuff that's accumulated over the past 13 years of smoking.

Welcome this cough as a detox signal -- removing all the toxins stored in your body.  That is wonderful news.  Help your body with detox by eating lots of fruits and drinking water to flush all the junk out.

I'm so glad I found the site.  It is wonderful to share and support.

I came down with a chest cold right after quitting smoking, which has actually happened to me on prior attempts to quit. It was a genuine chest cold and not just a detox. I have no explanation for it, but I will tell you that you REALLY appreciate how much easier it is to breathe once it passes!

Stay strong and good luck!

Your body is clearing out the toxins - this is true.  It may almost feel worse before it feels better, but IT WILL FEEL BETTER - WAY BETTER.  Drink a lot of fluids to help flush the toxins from your body.  Take a multi vitamin and exercise.

I'm in 38 days and no longer cough at night, I can breathe deeply and effectively when I exercise, my skin is clear and healthy looking.  Give it some time.  Your body and brain have a lot to adjust to.  Hang in there, it's a good thing.  🙂

I'm on day 4 as well. It has not been too hard but I certainly have had cravings. They come and I remind myself that I am a non-smoker now and push them from my thought. I feel sore and a bit tired today. I am just letting myself rest. I worked out hard Mon and Wed. 25 miles on bike spinning each day. I'm also planning to lose weight at the same time but not mandatory. There is no alcohol at this time either. I would be afraid of temptation. I am dreaming a lot. It seems like sleep is heavy at times. I dreamt someone offered me a cig last night. Anyway I am glad to hear your well on day 4. It is inspirational. I want to get through 10 days right now then set the next time line. How about you? I would love to dear your thoughts. Thanks for the Blog

Day 4 and  I started the cough, but that's ok because I had a really bad cold anyway. I can't believe I quit cold turkey after smoking for 35 years. I was around people who were smoking and it didn't bother me a bit.  I hated being a smoker.  I just feel like puking all the time.
