Day 4 Still NOPE! Music Helps!

This is my Day 4 and I am still smoke free. I admit when i first made the decision to quit this year I didn't think I would make it to Day 4. I realize that it's only Day 4 but I was fearful of this day most of all because I have the most opportunities to smoke on the weekends.

One thing that has been working for me,besides this site and the new friends here- is music. At night when the urge is the strongest I listen to two songs-Gary Allan's "Every Storm Runs Out of Rain", and Faith Hill's "American Heart" (recommended by an EX member).  The first reminds me "this too shall pass" and the second just uplifts me.

I don't know if this will help anyone else but I just wanted to share it in case it does.

Feel free to add your favorite songs.

i am coming down with a cold so I feel like my defenses are down today! Is this the common cold or is this my lungs trying to clean themselves? This happening to anyone else?

Congrats on Days 5 and 6!  You may not know it, but that is so inspiring. Hope that doesn't sound silly, but it makes me less afraid to quit because someone else is achieving victory! . On the cold symptons, I read on the quitsmokingsupport.com site that cold symptoms are signs of recovery as your lungs detox - So you're right, they are already cleaning themselves out! Aren't we are wondrously made!

that list is at http://www.quitsmokingsupport.com/withdrawal1.htm   It's amazing how much those stupid things affect us.  Don't be miserable though, use cough drops, throat spray & warm coffee 🙂  or whatever you need to. Keep on "Riding The Storm Out"! because indeed  This too shall pass!
