Congratulations on being THREE DAYS QUIT!!! You have chosen to quit. Your husband is still a slave to the nicotine, you have chosen a healthier lifestyle. A new life and a new mindset, that no longer includes self-harm. Keep moving forward and when you smell that nasty smell, just rise above it. I had moments when I would remind myself, I DON'T DO THAT ANYMORE. Get through this week, anyway you can. Write out your thoughts and feelings and use your tools. Distract, delay is very important right now. Being kind to yourself is very important right now. When stressed, sometimes I would just take a fancy bath, complete with good smells. It was my reward for not sucking on a death stick. Make your own rewards. You are not giving up anything right now, you are gaining everything BACK, that you lost from the years of smoking.
@Madmabel21 So proud of you on day 3. I'm so glad you're husband is cooperating . Like I said before, this is about you and I'm here to cheer you on. Don't get all tied up in the quitting jargon. That's not what it's all about. It's about you my friend.
@Barbscloud Thank you. Today is a little harder but I have been outside planting flowers and walking my dogs. Yesterday I gave all 3 dogs a bath and wash my car and walked 3 miles.
I am staying strong and staying focused. I want to be free.
On to Day FOUR. Build your quit, one day at a time. Keep making good choices. Lots of good, healthy things to do today, that don't harm your body and lungs.
@Barbscloud Thank you for the encouragement and the positive words.
I am staying busy and strong. I have been able to complete so much work that I have put off for no reason. I actually have the energy to want to do it and the BIGGEST change is I have been walking 3 plus miles a day and I have been drinking this superfood Bloom drink that has really helped.
I already have my 1-month anniversary reward picked out, a hot fudge brownie sundae, which is my all-time favorite.
@Madmabel21 Wow, sounds like you're really moving! It's such a great distraction and a positive mind booster. Let me know the date and I may stop at Dairy Queen that day to celebrate with you.
"Staying Strong, Focused, Busy and Close by". Love this. It's your mantra.
