Day 3 completed

I made it through my third day of no vaping.  I have wanted to quit since i started. I had quit cigs, alcohol and drugs years ago been sober 8 years now. But then my husband got me a vape 4 years. Boy I got addicted fast. Unlike the others substances I have been addicted too I can use it anytime I want and bring it with me everywhere I go. I have tried to Quit so many times. This time Is different because i have gotten rid of my vape, told friends and joined this community. The first two days were hard because i wasn’t sure if i would go back and let myself down. It was always in my mind that vaping wasn’t an option. However today i it wasn’t on my mind so much and as a result I was living my life more normal and reaching for my vape a lot. THankfully it’s not here. And not an option. When I got sober journaling helped a lot. Hoping this blog will do the same. I also know from being sober that each day I don’t be pick up it makes it easier to not pick up the next day. And if i stay at it one day i will look back and me vaping will be a distant memory. One of my highlights today was  seeing people vaping when they were driving and feeling so grateful that i am no longer doing that.

Good for you on Day 3! One day at a time.....sometimes....one minute at a time is how we get through this. And once you beat this addiction, it will be so wonderful for you. Stay Strong

Keep thinking how wonderful it is going to be to be free of ALL addictions.  You will be totally FREE!

And, let me tell you, there is no better feeling in this world (well, maybe that first shower after surgery is up there, too!)

Congratulations on DAY 3!!!

That is awesome! Congratulations! I'm also an EX vaper on day 9. Lots of great advice/info/people on this site have helped me. Plus there are many of us EX vapers right here with you experiencing many of the same feelings & cravings as you are so you in the right place! Just keep on the path! We can defeat this unhealthy, controlling, expensive drug addiction & get our lives back! I'm pulling for you! I know it can be difficult but it is doable!

Big congrats on 3 days of success.   You're on your way to a successful journey.   It is true that there are many new vapers here that you can associate with.   Keep going forward.

If you have quit cigarettes, alcohol and drugs - you can definitely quit vaping.  And actually, you already have.  Three days worth.  3 days can = forever when you close the mental door on the option to vape.  You're doin' great.  Keep doing it.

Yes freedom! I can tell I am actually parenting Better because somewhere in my mind I am not thinking if i can sneak away and smoke for a minute to lower he stress from parenting. So far it seems like a lot of that stress was me trying to take a smoke break. Thanks for your comment

Thank you. It’s nice to know there are others. It’s can be frustrating when people tell me why are you trying to stop vaping is better then smoking. How is inhale chemicals good for me. So excited to have quit and staying strong and connecting to awesome people like you

Thank you. The one excuse my mind try’s to tell me is “you have quit so many things that are not good for you. What’s the problem with having just one thing”. I know this isn’t true. I know how much suffering it creates in me because i do not want to vape and when i still do i feel like crap about myself.

I like your comment about being less stressed as a parent because you weren't trying to sneak in a smoke break! I know exactly what you mean! I am feeling so much less stress not vaping lol. I'm going on day 8/9. Sometimes have been harder than others but I am always so happy & proud that I've made it through another day. You will be too!

CONGRATS DAY 4

Tapas_butterfly

It’s so interesting. One of the main reasons it was so hard for me to quit was my belief that life would be to stressful to live without being able to smoke. I am so early into this process but it really seems like smoking and knowing i didn’t want to and all that stuff was much more stressful then normal life. Addiction is fascinating at the way it distorts my thinking.

It is interesting to me as well. I thought I was giving myself a break from my stressful life when I vaped but it was in fact causing a lot of it! Hope you're having a great weekend! There are a few difficult times but it's okay to be uncomfortable for a short time to be free of this addiction forever! Every day it gets a little easier! Hope you have a great weekend!

Congratulations on quitting vaping! I vaped for 8 years and I just quit 23 days ago! You are over the hard part now you just have an occasional craving every now and then. The hardest part for me was the habit of having it in my hand all day/night long. Now I chew gum and cinnamon toothpicks instead. Those have helped a lot.
