Day 26

I can't believe this !! 26 days and counting. Didn't even bother with the patch for the last 5 days beccause I was home sick but put one on again since I was going back to work today. I think tomorrow I'll forgo the patch and see how it goes. I'll put one in my purse just in case though. I'm still getting urges but I know that this is the habit part kicking in and it really CHAPS MY HIDE.  I get angry at the cigarettes and it seems to help me overcome the urge. I was reading another blog about the person who made it 4 months and then went back to smoking. I did that also and I feel exactly the same way. I won't feel comfortable until I make it past that mark. I'm still scared I'll pick up again.

i worked with a lady and she felt the same way you did, she bought a box of the 7mg patches and just put the in the med cabnit, just in case, that was 3 years ago she never looked back.  godd luck, don't think she figures they are out of date they just make her feel better.

26 days is fantastic! The nicotine is gone from your system - and for the last 26 days you body has been busy healing itself. Make a firm commitment and promise to yourself not to smoke. Do you recall why after 4 months you went back to it? Think hard. Try to learn something from that experience.

You can choose to go back to smokng or not ~ the choice is yours.

Choose life.

I understand your fear totally.  I have quit smoking for that length of time in the past too.  My stepmother quit smoking for 8 years and went back.  We are nicotine addicts and we will always be.

We have to always remember that this is our choice...to smoke or not to smoke.  It is within our power.  One day at a time.  Every day that you aren't smoking should be celebrated.

You can do this! Never Take Another Puff! : )

You are supposed to be scared. If that is what it takes to remind you of the need to manage the addiction then so be it. I personally have had it with FEAR. I am so sick of the fears relapsing, temptations, irritations and everything else that can come up with a quit.

I am an addict. I will constantly have to manage my life with the watchful expectation that I will be tempted to smoke on some occasion. But that is it. I accept that I have quit and did it as soon as I could break the denial to do so! Now I move forward to live my life! You are rocking this and congrats to you on your quit!
