Day 21 - SNOW!!

I thought it was Spring??  My personal motto is "NO TO SNOW"!!  Don't mind it up in the mountains - you skier, snowboarders, sledders, etc... can go have all the fun you want BUT my little valley should be a haven!!  Well I guess Mother Nature doesn't see it that way!  LOL  On the smoking front I'm doing OK.  Even with the stressful drive to work in the blinding snow (OK those of you who are used to driving in the snow would LAUGH at me but for here it was coming down pretty good) I did OK.

Went to my weight loss group last night.  Well, I'm up 5 lbs in 3 weeks!!  UGGGHHHHH!!  Time to refocus on my eating!  Not eating 'bad' things just too much of the good things!  Too much of a good thing is still too much!!  Starting today - Will no longer use the I quit smoking as a reason to mindlessly munch.  Instead I will get up and move.  At work I can walk the stairs (without going outside in the SNOW), at home I can play the WII or just get up and walk in place to get rid of any anxiety I have!!  Well that's the plan - will let you know how it works for me.......

I'm working on the weight thing too, which is another totally alien experience brought on by my self-imposed nicotine deficiency. In the last few months, my 6 pack has shown a tendency  to want to turn into a keg and someone has been shrinking my damn pants. I hit a highest ever weight of 211 3 months ago, and decided that was about enough. Have since knocked it down to 195, but still could lose another 10 to really start feeling cocky about it. 🙂  I can see that it's going to mean more activity and even less of the sweet treats. We get about 3/4 of our food and meat from what we raise ourselves, but there is definitely still room for improvement in the total diet. So many of the processed and pre-prepared foods are not really ideal if not harmful, so that means more effort and thought must go into what goes down the gullet as well as what gets into the lungs.

Picky, picky, picky........sheeesh....I had no idea I was going to turn into one of those anal retentive label-reading nut jobs!

You remind me of my early days quit!!! Ranting every milestone that it's APRIL for crying out loud! And promising myself to buy Mother Nature a complementary Calender since it's obvious she didn't get one for Christmas!!! I sure hope this year she gets it right!!! Nothing to smoke over though! N.O.P.E!!!!

FYI - the snow rant has nothing to do with smoking.  Came from a valley the NEVER had snow to this valley which Mom said only had snow every 10 years or so.  Been here for 3 years and it has snowed every year!!  We are in a 50 to 60 year cycle that brings 10 years of unusally cold weather to this valley.  LUCKY ME!!  LOL  I am doing better though - the first year I SMOKED and CRIED all the way to work!  This year I did neither!!  LOL  So don't worry, this will not going to throw me over the edge to smoking.  If anything 'WAS' going to do that it would have been the weight gain - BUT I'm determined to make this my FOREVER QUIT!!

Have a HAPPY SMOKE FREE DAY!!  (sorry forgot that on my original post!!)

It's okay, Im sure you can put up with a little bit more snow, but WOW, you sound SO MUCH BETTER!  I guess you had to have the snow to bring you back out of your rough patch....next good snowfall you get, go driving in your car to a local mall with a BIG parking lot and NO CARS in sight......drive at about 20mph and hit the brakes...woohoo you car will do 'DONUTS'....(that means spin in a about 1 circle.LOL)  Check it out...xoxo...
