Day 21, 2 Chemo Days Down

So I had a 21 day birthday of no smoking! I am proud of that. I didn't have much of a choice in the matter with the dx I recently received of CAD and small cell cancer of right lung. They did find out that my cancer is only in the right lung right now which is more treatable. That was good news.

Today was 2nd day of chemo and I feel okay. It was a short chemo lasting only 3 hours vs yesterday was from 8:30 to 6 pm. It was a long day. I had a hiccup in the middle where I got very hot like a hot flash and felt dizzy and woozy after they started the second bag of chemo. But staff was on it in a heartbeat and treated me quickly with a pillow, cool cloth on my head and gave me some comfort meds. After about 1/2 hour I was going again. I wish I knew the names of the medicines but I know me and if I know me then I know I will look them up and all of the side-effects and I shouldn't do that. It would just put ideas in my head and I don't need that. The less sometimes we know the better off we are.

I still have a nic patch on of the 14mg dose. I see my general practitioner Friday and will ask her about stepping down and see what she thinks. I don't have ill effects from the 14mg patch, but I don't want any extra urges either. So will just have to wait and see what she says. She also is supposed to clear me for the anesthesia for my MRI on Friday. I have the MRI on the 6th, July. On July 5th I have the consult for the port that is to be in my chest. That is my husbands birthday on the 5th. Speaking of husbands, he has been the best friend I could ever have during this time. We got our cobwebs worked out and we are doing great. He is making it so I can get in the shower again by adding a pole to help me jump down 2.5 feet into the tub. We have a sunken tub which used to have a jacuzzi but that quit working years ago. Since then, it is just a great big deep tub that you have to step down into. He got me a step stool, put up a shower head and then shower curtain rods and curtains and the pole comes in tomorrow night.

If you got this far reading my stuff, then I applaud you....sometimes I just write what is on my mind. I hope everyone is doing well in their quit and I am going to check through some journals and see what is going on with everyone else! Love you all, ❤️ Sherri

Oh edit to add: NOPE means not one puff ever. I take it to mean for the day as I take one day at a time right now. It can mean different things for different people, but the idea is that one puff turns into more. I puff my nebulizer three time a day. That is much better quality then tar and nicotine going into my lungs. I hope everyone is doing ok with their quit!
