Wondering why I am putting myself thru this.  Life is hard enough without a cig.  Sitting here with yet another sucker in my mouth and feeling like I am going to give in at any moment.  Feels like I have gained about 20 pounds and obviously FEELING SORRY FOR MYSELF!!!

All nicotine is out of your system in about 2 weeks. You will still have thoughts about smoking, not necessarily full-blown urges. Know you enemy! Go to whyquit.com and read all about what is happening within your brain & body. I know how you feel. All my pants are tight and I have only been on Ex for 7 days. It does get better!!!!! One day at a time!

Life can be a challenge with or without a smoke. The reality is that cigs never really made anything easier, less stressful or less painful. Nicotine is a crutch that basically tends and fends for itself only. The feeling better after smoking is just the addiction not actually feeling better!

Arm yourself against the addiction with knowledge. Check out Whyquit.com to help understand the dynamics of addiction of the nicotine. Today I have Eighteen days, two hours and some minutes nicotine free. It definitely gets better! For me the biggest challenge is cutting this habit that I have strongly empowered OUT OF MY LIFE minute by minute! Knowing that I have made this addiction my friend and ally helps me pull that power back. Pull it out of my car for the commute, away from my meals, away from my recreation time and away from killing me puff by puff while convincing me how I NEED IT!

One day, One way! Never another puff! All I have to do is not smoke right now. Eighteen years later of not smoking right now and I will be like my sister who nows defines herself as an EX and still thanks god for every smokefree Day! It gets easier and WE DESERVE THIS. Smoking is not a priviledge it is a PUNISHMENT!

Hi luv2dance.  When you get to feeling like that just get up and start dancing.  It will take your mind off of the cravings and pass the time.  You love to dance so start dancing.  You'll be so glad you did.  Hang in there it will get easier.

.........and when you dance, you'll be able to breathe!!!!!  I'm on day 34....have gained what seems like a million pounds ~ sigh.  So I laugh and tell everyone I'll live to be a fat old lady instead of dying young and leaving a skinny corpse LOL.  BTW, it's ok to feel sorry for yourself - it sucks.  But we'll do it.  We have to.
