Day 2

Today was a bit more difficult. And by more difficult I mean that I had a high blood sugar all day. I had no idea what smoking did to my blood sugar levels -- or maybe it's that I have been eating constantly in an attempt to regain the 10 pounds I lost during the last month -- and I've been hyperglycemic all day. It seems that hyperglycemia makes me want to smoke more. I've done some reading and it seems to make sense.

The big test for me, I think, will be Monday morning. Smoking in the car has always been the dealbreaker for me -- even before I made the commitment to quit entirely. However, there are 3 or 4 ways for me to drive to work so I think I will vary my routine. That should help me resist the urge I know I'll get. And hey! By monday it will be 72 hours, 3 days, or whatever. I'm still excited.

Also, I drank beer today and felt no urge whatsoever. I thought I might, but no; I felt only disgust at the thought of a cigarette. In fact, I am a steady Miller Lite drinker and I only had Mich Ultra in the fridge. I never noticed, but now that my taste buds are returning... Mich Ultra is disgusting. I will never drink it again. Yuck!

That's my run down of today's events. Go me! 2 days without smoking. NTAP.
