Day 2 report

It has not been a terrific day yet.  Fought this mornings craving by opening the blinds (which I hate to do...not a sun or morning person) because I figured if I let the sun in, I would not be pissed that I could not have a cigarette, I would be pissed it was too damn bright in the room.  I must say...it worked.

Next (this is more for Sky), I bought a bag of lemons for tomorrow.  Can't wait!!!  (sarcastic but going to do it just the same)  Lol.

Also the water has been fun but not so excited about the numerous trips to the bathroom.  Lol.

On a related note, with all the excessive trips to the bathroom, I beat another afternoon craving by taking apart the fan in the bathroom and cleaning out all the dust.  It took a lot longer than I thought but I forgot all about the cigarette with all that dust.  It had not been cleaned since we moved in 2 years ago.  Lol.

Barely making it but going to continue this journey.

You are almost finished the worst part of the journey.....one more day.  The first 2-3 weeks are the most uncomfortable after that.

Hang in there!  The only way out is through.  Keep busy and remember to distract when the craves hit!

Loved the opening the blinds thing so you could be pissed at that! Perfect! And cleaning the fan - wow! I didn't even know you could take them apart! Congrats on your quit! Stay close!

Oh, Yeah!!!  I love a good shout-out when I give advice.  Hey everybody, Piper bought lemons!!!  (Oh my, somebody is actually LISTENIING to me???)

Piper, you called my list "crazy ideas" and I LOVED that you are speaking my language, girl.  Just please know that these nutso-sounding suggestions have kept a LOT of people from picking up a cigarette.  That's no small thing.  So don't write off any of those suggestions, ok?  And we haven't even BEGUN to tell you all the tricks we all have up our sleeves!!

I love how you are attacking your Quit.  Opening the blinds shows that you are thinking of alternative behaviors that shake up your habits and associations with cigarettes.  Most excellent, Piper.  And, though you might not even have realized it, you just employed one of my best suggestions: keeping your hands busy.  God, I'm good.  LOL

I LOVE your blogs, Piper!  Keep 'em coming.  And don't forget to ask for help when you are going nutsl, okay?

xxxooo,    Sky

I was just about to start vacuuming to keep myself preoccupied and fight a craving! I think my house will be spotless now that I have committed to quitting!
