Day 2, no smoking!

So, yesterday wasn't a problem at all aside from the massive headache. The patch is really working! It's always worked in the past, but I never used it to quit, I just used it when I couldn't be a secret smoker. I'm now using it to quit so I can still function at work.

I had court today. Since I don't know any of you, I was assaulted outside my office. Second time I've had to go to court. Normally I would stand outside freaking out until I could smoke enough to muster the courage to go in, but today, I smoked none! Victory again!

Today is already a good day!

That is a great victory to get through something that makes you nervous or causes stress. Congrats!

Congratulations!  That is awesome that you could go into court given the circumstances and to do it so close to your quit date...that is strength!

Good for you!!!!!!

Hi Kim,    I know that is a stressful situation.  We all smoked when we were under stress, just remember that we smoked when we were having a grand ole time too. It's an addiction.  This is an opportunity to separate it from the stress and see it for what it is.  You are doing great.    Keep that quit.  Smoking will not have an favorable influence on the outcome of your court appearance.    Congratulations on getting through!

You learned a big lesson today and that is you could face your demons without a cig.  That doesn't make what happened to you any better, but it is huge for you to learn that you can face things without smoking.  I'm still fighting craves for celebration.  I gettit about stress, but not relaxing.  Well, the brain gets it, but I do have to push thoughts away sometimes.
