Day 16

Doing good.  Up 13 lbs but I am not getting disappointed about it.  I usually do that and quit quitting telling myself I will lose the weight again and then start quitting again.  Not this time, this time I now upped my gym to twice a day (at least doing cardio) and focusing on long term.  Even if I gain 15 lbs or so once I am considered a non-smoker I will be able to bike ride (which I love to do) WAY more and be in much better shape.  This site has helped me just using this is a diary to stay strong. I love reading the blogs too, so motivating!  I got my first friend!!! Thanks Tim H! Staying strong and motivated this time around and avoiding any and all triggers (frriends who smoke, bars, drinking, etc...) until I can get over this 3-6 month hump and hopefully slowly be able to bring friends and going out back into my life.  Have a great day!

Great job on day 16!!!  Don't worry about the weight gain.  One thing at a time.

I avoided going out as well.  I slept a lot in the beginning. Now I am able to go to the bars but I either drink very little or not at all.

Did I not add you as a friend yet???  Sorry Alyssa!!  Just know that you have lots of friends here!!

Congratulations on your 19 days! So glad you are here to share this smoke free journey with us.  I don't go to the gym but I do work out at home and also run and walk, wonderful distraction from smoking and good for the muscles and bones! Good for you!

Exercise is a great crave buster, too!  It gives you the dopamine you are missing from smoking.

You are wise not to worry about weight gain so early in your quit.  After you have your quit well in hand, you might try adding some healthy veggies and fruits in between your other snacks, and maybe some sugarfree mints or gums.

Congratulations for making your quit the most important area of your life.  If your friends are friends they will be there when you are stronger and will understand. I gained weight but I too am working to  lose.  Great job.
