Ok, So I have a question. Has anyone found a point where it feels like you just quit and are starting all over? Day 15 was horrible, I honestly think I may have had a mild anxiety attack. Is that normal?

I had a great first week! Week 2 and 3 were the worst!!! I was anxious and at one point I felt like I was having a stroke. Hang in there, it does pass!!!

Thank you warriorprincess. I had to pull off of the road into a rest stop and wait for like 40 minutes for this weird feeling to fade away.

I believe anxiety attacks are part of the withdrawal.  Maybe you need to do a little more exercise.  That normally helps.  Hang in there.  Being a non-smoker is well worth everything you are feeling now.

but don't get cocky and go drinking.

I have been able to drink without smoking, it is easier than I thought. The one that caught me off gaurd was coffee. Boy oh boy do I want to smoke with a cup of Joe!

One of biggest surprises was when a bad day would appear.  I guess I expected each day to be easier than the day before and that wasn't how it was.  Getting thru the first one made me know icould be uncomfortable for a while but come out the other side without smoking.

Watch out for the effects of coffee. For some reason it is much more powerful when you have no nicotine.  I was getting heart palpatations and real jittery.  Had to cut the coffee in half.

Hi Outtosea3,

I'm at a month and a half and still have partial days where it's a bit tough. We are still the process of re-learning how to live in situations where we used to smoke. Sometimes the association of smoking along with the feeling or function just pop out of nowhere and knock us over. Stay prepared and be ready for those times.

You are doing great ! You have made it so far ! I quiot on July 14th 2011, my husband did also. I use this site, But, he doesn't know how to turn on a computer, and I'm not much better. We are self employed people, and live way out in the middle of nowhere. So, we never got into the computer stuff. My son Grad. 4 year's ago, and built me one, so we could talk every day. He's a great kid, and very talented with music. My daughter-in-law,s talent is photography, with some model's, I love her still life. Well, I'm here if you need to talk or vent. I know what helped me. I am happy to help, anytime, I looked at my page that I have that keep's up with how many cig.'s I haven't smoked, etc. but, the best part, I have saved $2,300.00 dollar's !!! Then add my husband to that ! But, it just happened that we hit a rough time, with our health. My husband has cancer. I've had 2 major surgery's, still sick, and need one more surgery. My Mom was air lifted to A bigger hospital throwing up blood,  It's been a stress filled year, and we made it through it. Plus, we haven't killed each other, or got a divorce !!! Was hard at first, we gave each other a lot of room, and bite our tongue's a lot !!! But, we have made it past our 1 year quit !!! You can too ! Joy

Yes.  More than once.  And with a LOT of time behind me.  It happens.  It's part of the process.  This is a long process, make no mistake.  15 days is a miracle of time smokeless and yet a drop in the bucket as far as longevity in this business.  You're purring along happily and then out of the blue it feels like another Day One.  Expect that to happen.  Be prepared for it.  Gird your loins and have techniques in place to survive it.  Learn to be attentive to the warning bells in your head and heed them.  I speak from a six year quit.  I've had recent minor smoking thoughts.  Don't even know if I could term them "cravings" at this point.  But they're signals to me, they're warning signs to pay attention to.  You learn through experience.  Study hard.  Failure is hard to come back from.  A lost quit can last for years before the next attempt.    You are paving your way to freedom.  Keep pouring down that cement.
