Day 11 of Freedom

Can't believe I have not smoked for 10 days.  I can drink my coffee in the morning and enjoy the taste without a cigarette.  I still think about smoking but the craving is not there.  I just sometimes think how nice it would be to sit and relax and smoke.  The funny thing is I feel much more relaxed than when I was puffing.  I read Thomas ' home page last night about breathing in easily count to 2 and pursing your lips and breath out count to 4.  That was a big help.  You know, "progress not perfection".  I know I AM a NONSMOKER today and I like it.  My husband still smokes however he never smoked as much as me and he is being very respectful of my quit.  When I told him about my quit date and Chantix, he said he would think about quitting too.  You know, Im hoping the other AA slogan will work..."attraction not promotion ".  This is my commitment, not his.  I have learned very slowly and sometimes forget that I have no control over anyone except myself.  The only time I smell cigs on him is right after he goes outside to smoke and comes in and sits by me on the sofa.  I had forgotten how strong the smell is to a NONSMOKER and why my Granddaughter would say Grammy you stink right after I had smoked outside and tried to hug her. Onward to my new smoke free day!
