Day 11 - Quitting Vaping

Well, I have not vaped in 11 days! But I did have a cigarette on day 4, whomp whomp. Nothing since that slip so I am very happy that I came back from that slip fast. The cravings are definitely getting a lot more manageable and other than one super emotional day on day 9 it hasn't been too terrible. The first week I definitely thought about it a lot. I thought more about cigarettes than vaping though. It kinda makes sense as I used vaping to quit smoking! I have the urges still, especially after meals and before bed, I feel like I am grabbing for the vape pen or cigarette. Vaping may be slightly better for you than smoking but it is wayyyy to similar to smoking so you don't break the actually cigarette habit when you vape and you are still addicted to nicotine. Anyhow, I am glad to say that I am a non smoker!!

Welcome firefly1978   Big congrats on 11 days not vaping.  Nicotine is nicotine so it's the same addiction.  Although I do think it can be harder to quit since you can vape anywhere.  Did your create a quit plan for those tempting moments?  It really helps to have a go to in advance.   We're here for you, so reach out before hand.

I have been having fireballs and cough drops when I have cravings as well as deep breaths. Before the quit date I also had slowly cut out my allowed places to vape because you can really get away with sneaking it nearly everywhere!

I have already noticed an increase in energy and less headaches! I was getting headaches everyday and I have only had one headache since I quit!!

That's great that you prepared so well.  That's why you're being success.  And how great is that that you're feeling better already.  There's an incentive!!!!

So happy you are 11 days Free from vaping...but do the work...keep busy...do anything, but smoke...come here and support others in their journey...that will keep your hands busy and away from the smoke Thoughts...do a puzzle, play a game, exercise ... don’t give into the urge... You will become stronger and Nico weaker...Hang in there ... Gotcha in my Thoughts ~Colleen 282 DOF

Yes, coming here has definitely been helpful! In addition to fireballs to help with the oral fixation I have also been adding in exercise and trying to eat healthier! Every time I get that antsy craving feeling I try to remind myself to move, take a walk, etc. That has been super helpful for the anxiety that breaking bad habits brings on. Thanks for all the support!!
