Hey there, the first couple of weeks can bring on some intense feelings.  Try doing a little checkin with yourself.  Are you hungry or tired?   Smoking often would get us past hunger or tired and when we do not smoke we need to be more in tune with eating regulary and resting.  Keep your determination and have faith that this will get better.  The freedom of not smoking is great.  Take some deep breaths, have some water, if you are not tired or hungry, take a brisk walk and work off your anger.  Take good care of yourself.

I never believed folks when they said it will get better, but it does. The first two weeks are hell for sure. You are almost there. Hang in there. I smoked for forty years and never thought I could quit, but these folks here helped me and now I'm 62 days into my new life. Just make it through the rest of today that's all you need to do, in fact that's all you ever need to do. We're glad you are here and glad you are asking for help. You honor us with your quit. Hang in there

Also, STRETCH your muscles at least every half hour...drink plenty of  water and ALWAYS DO DEEP BREATHING...SIT IN A CHAIR AND BREATHE IN DEEP AND SLOWLY EXHALE...contintue for at least 3-4 times, or until u get dizzy from inhaling your own fresh air,lol...it works.

Jordan, It helps us to support you if you fill out your page a bit and tell us a little about you....

In the "About Me" section, we often write how long we smoked, etc. etc.

Just so we can get to know you a little. And also, I understand about coming here to vent. You'll always have a lot of people wanting to help you!

Have you prepared for your quit by reading? Have a quit kit ready? www.whyquit.com and www.quitsmokingonline.com are two sites many here have studied. Also, go to Maggie's page and you see a ton of links to resources. Same with Aztec's page..

You can do this!

Hang on.  You will get passed it and then have lots and lots of good days, I PROMISE.  Something about day 8-10 range, the nicdemon trying one last time to get you back.  It will get so much better now, just tell him NO!!!!!!

Stay calm and focused.  It is hard but worth it.  You have to want the quit more than wanting to smoke.  Hang in there and just focus on getting through each part of the day.  Your quit must be #1

Jordan, I'm on day 9!  Right there with ya!  (:  You can do it!  I think of it as escaping instead of being deprived.  Your mind is incredible!  Keep on, you're doing TERRIFIC!  Leesa

One more thing, when you get a craving, 'pretend' to smoke, seriously this helps me.  I use a straw or pen or whatever and inhale deep just like I did when I smoked.   And just remember that the craving goes away whether you smoke or not!

Deep breathing simulates smoking, the difference is you are doing something healthy instead of unhealthy! This will pass and you can get on with your life again, smoke-free!
