I'm in double digits!! Woohoo! I woke up this morning thinking "Day 10" and not when do I smoke (to which the answer has been "I dont do that anymore!"). It felt good.
Before I needed to leave to attended another home inspection, I several craves. I had to keep busy. Sometimes I can fight a crave by doing something completely different from what I was doing. For example, if I'm working on the computer, I get up and do some laundry. Or, if I'm watching TV, I clean up the kitchen. If I'm struggling to accomplish an activity, it is time to stop and sit. If the crave is really strong and I feel like I'm either going to smoke or eat, it is time for a nap. These are a few tricks I've discovered that work for me.
After the home inspection, I realized I was hungry and exhausted. This generated a crave. So, another trigger for me is being tired and hungry. I will have to make a plan to deal with this trigger. It is going to be a tough one, especially here at the holidays. Keeping a granola bar and a bottle of water in the car is a good place to start, I think. I open to other suggestions.
Thanks again to everyone who has had kind, upbeat words for me as I travel the Smoke-Free Days path.
