Day 1 :-) :-)

I am a non-smoker!  I've listened to Allen Carr's "the easy way" numerous times and it really resonates with me!!  I have found the (audio) book extremely helpful and encouraging in breakdown the brainwashing about smoking!  I was disappointed when I did not stay a non smoker after listening to it a couple times, but I now see that as the journey I needed to take to really understand the addiction-why I smoked. I've been in the self loathing phase for years now- as I was a closet smoker; I'm a nurse and I have felt like such a hypocrite for way too many years now!! .  Oddly enough I think I've mentally been a non smoker since my first read, it's just taken me some time not to feel like I'm giving something up/quitting.  I feel more confident then ever that I will stay a non-smoker!!!  In Allen's words, I truly feel FREE from the whole nightmare!!  I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off me... I don't have to hope it will stick, I just know it will.  I wrote down a few key points from the book to re-read when cravings hit, to help me stay strong to combat the little monster in my brain that will try to trick me back into the trap.  I am confident I'm smarter and can see through the ruse!!

Sincerely,

very happy nonsmoker!!

I thought I was surely going to get sick the last one made me so nauseated- I don't want to ever forget that!!

Be willing.

If you are, you won't be fighting yourself.

Yay for Day ONE!  We all had one, some of us more than one, but you are starting off with a great atitude and positive thoughts about being FREE! And won't it be lovely to stop loathing yourself and begin to value YOU for the wonderful thing you are doing for YOURSELF! Onward you go!

Thank you each for the responses!!  With being a closet smoker, I havent told anyone of this change in my life. I grossly underestimated the power of signing on to this blog!  Your words of encouragement are greatly appreciated!!  I found them soo encouraging today!!
