Day 1 again

Today is day 1 again and I am feeling pretty bad. I have been cravings strongly after long naps or waking up in the morning. I barely quit in the middle of the day. I was so hating life. I had to go to a birthday part too. I just wanted to be at home. I got some Twizzlers candy and that helped the crave. Right now I am chewing on ice (my friend suggested that). I don't know what else to do now. Guess I will just go to bed and ride it out. I just want to go out and get cigarettes, but I know I can't. Please can you tell me what you are going through, so I know I am not alone? Thanks.

Thank you, yeah, I don't really want to get cigarettes, but they are calling me. I am just going to bed to shut my mind up, lol. Thanks for the forum. I will look for it. Right now I am just really tired, and I think I satisfied my craving with peppermint candies. Not looking forward to facing the day tomorrow.

If you can just hang on a little bit longer you'll see that the maniac in your head will get calmer and calmer - easier and easier to control. I know if's just like there's this little demon in your head forcing you to do what it wants. If you can fight it for about 4 days and win - you are on the up side of things. You will get stronger every day and your addiction will get weaker. Drink lots of water too - it really helps. Drink fruit juice if you aren't big on water. Picture your children as adults handing you a little bundle that is your grandchild... do it for them, do it for that. It's really for you but it benefits them in such a big way. Those kids need you to be healthy and to be there for them.
Go for it kid! Pledge to be smoke froo for the next hour, then the hour after that and so on unitl you're free!
YOU CAN DO IT!

Hang on Annette you can do it. One day, one hour at a time. They say the urge only lasts a few seconds( I know it seems longer) but they will subside and weaken. when I quit for 6 years, my craving lessened to the point I could resist the temptation by reminding myself " I dont smoke anymore". I wish you well and keep resisting the urge and stay smoke-free.

Hang in there... you can do this!!! Just focus on other things like TV, an art project, dancing, getting exercise, learning to cook new meals... before you know it, you'll be smoke free!!! *hugs*

Thanks everyone! You are giving me the courage to go on just one more day, one more hour. I am doing it for my kids, but for me and my husband as well.. It just feels so sucky.

Just know that you are not alone....I am going through the same things you are....as I'm sure there are lots of other people out there going through it.....Someone suggested to me to make a pledge to not smoke today in the daily pledge group....they said it helps....so I did...you should try that too....Good luck annette....I'm here for you!
