Day #1 All Over Again

Well here I am. Friday was day #1. I did pretty good. I had cravings, but got through them and realized they were not going to put me in a padded room after all..............then this happened.........

And this..........

And, oh......this too.....

Bambi meet Honda, Honda meet Bambi. Bambi won. Well not really, I'm sure he is no longer with us, though we were unable to find him after the accident. Anyway, it was a scary experience, though not unusual at dusk in NC, driving through "deer alley". Needless to say, I was digging a cigarette out of my husband's bag so fast, didn't even stop to think about it. All I could think about was that deer alllllmmoooossttt came all the way through, and would have probably killed my husband, maybe me too. I continued to smoke all weekend and even yesterday. I don't know, maybe if it had happened on day 10, instead of day 1, I could have handled it better? Guess I'll never know.

So here I am today, starting all over. Almost 11 am and haven't smoked, and the cravings are pretty under control, but we'll see.

And how was YOUR weekend??????????????????

You know how mine was, I was psycho b**ch, as you well heard a number of times on the phone yesterday. My blog isn't much prettier this morning, though it doesn't involve any Bambi population, nor my van. You would have heard me from there to here had that happened.

Well I am glad to hear that you and your husband are ok. And I use to live in Fayetteville and traveling some of the roads to go camping on the weekend I worried ALL the time about that exact thing happening. You will do Great on your quit..

Yes, anywhere you live in NC is risky when it comes to the deer. Of course if they would cut down on all the freakin' "Progress" around here and stop running them out of their natural habitat, this would not be as BIG a problem as it is. But thanks for the encouragement. I'm craving bad at this moment for some reason.

Oh bummer! I would have felt better about giving in on day 1, too. By day 10 you won't WANT to start over! Good luck~

you are doing exactly as you should by startng over as soon as you smoked. no shame in that, that is what we are a help site and that is what i intend to be, you just hang on and it will get easier, sorry about your car, but as you said, no one was hurt so you have been blessed peace!

It is wonderful that no human was hurt, but I know I would have given in to smoking as quickly as I could have after an incident like that. No shame, we're human and are allowed to be human.

I agree with everyone else and Kim put it well, day 1 I would have lit up too, day 10.... wouldn't have wanted to go through all this again.

Fantastic you're ok and we're here for you on your re-quit, I think all of us had to try several times before it took. It finally takes when you just never look back.
