Thank you Dale once again for your help. I  really do need to check into this ever so supportive site why still on this journey. I believe maybe I got a little to confident . When the urges came back so strong I was quite surprised. What I found interesting is the cravings were/are always at the same time each evening. Does this happen to anyone else.

if you have expections of smoking at a certain time of day, you will likely have cravings those times of day.

I think (from reading previous blogs) that you are about 6 weeks quit?  Cravings are a normal part of this journey.  Your need for a cigarette at around the same time each evening is just a sign that your receptors are remembering the time/place/fix.  Try changing things up.  Do you follow the same routine about that time?  Do you finish your dinner and sit at the table for a bit?  If that is the difficult time, perhaps get right up from the table and start the dishes.  Or - get right up and take a quick walk, or go to your computer and check in with us?  Change that association with that cigarette and it should help!

Do continue to practice distracting yourself when a crave hits.  You are doing great, but it will continue to take some effort!  It is so worth it, though - I promise!

One thing I think every member needs to do daily is at least read the blogs. The answers alone are often worth reading.

You were right on target when you referred to over confidence....when this happens...you let your guard down.

Dale is absolutely correct....Come here everyday, at least once a day.....it helps to keep you grounded, involved, and always back to basics. And as you anticipate these craves....you will have the tools to deal with them

You are doiung Great

Thank you all for the great advise.  I believe the bottom line is I got lazy and stopped working my quit. I stopped taking the Chantix and I'm sure that did not help... the positive side is I only have this one craving a day. I'm so excited 100 days is getting closer, today is day # 65, slowly I will get there!!

Lynne I have experienced the same thing. I call it my "unhappy hour" crave! Early eve when I used to get off work relax etc. Have had to change my routine and break the association. Still a work in progress but getting better! You can do it!
