Cutting back is NOT quitting!

Don't kid yourself, you're just delaying the quit. As long as you feed those nicotine receptors in your brain nicotine, even a little bit, they will continue to stay active. I found out the hard way that quitting is a do or don't situation, there is no in between.

DO IT OR DON'T... but just don't think you can wean yourself down to one and then none. You will have withdrawls and unfortunately, that's the price you pay for quitting an addiction. It's hard but it makes the quit that more valuable, helps you stay quit and vow never to start and go through that hell again.

Believe me, I tried the cutting back and I got to a magic number and stayed there because any less was too few and then I started increasing again and sometimes I went over what I had started with.

If you were on fire you'd douse yourself completely with water and put yourself out, right? You wouldn't slowly and deliberately douse a few flames at a time would you?

I have been one of the wimpiest people you could possibly meet. I have the pain threshold of a three year old, the mental toughness of a butterfly and the patience of a hummingbird! I finally stayed quit cold turkey. If I can do it, so can you.
