Confession

I have a confession to make. The truth is that I quit because of a job opportunity that I needed to pass a nicotine test for. I have been unemployed since March of 2020 and a marvelous opportunity presented itself....only catch was I had to pass a nicotine test to get the job. At first I thought 'NO WAY.. Its just not the right time for me to stop". There will be something else that won't restrict me." I was ready to throw in the towel and not take the position. After giving it ALOT of thought, I decided that I couldn't let smoking ruin yet another move, another opportunity, another way for me to provide for my family. What kind of person would I be if I let this opportunity pass me up for cigarettes'? So I am proud to say that I did quit! I am on day 9! Its truly amazing what we can do when we set our minds to something. My test isn't until next week but I am confident that if I stick to this I will pass! Thanks everyone for all of the support thus far. I plan on staying an EX smoker even after the test and I know that your continued support will help me to succeed!

Proud of you for not letting addiction continue to stand in the way of becoming the Best of You

Thank you for your honesty . Sometimes certain criteria it seems can be more than a blessing . Even if you don't get the job , you are a winner . Quitting smoking gives us so much more than quitting smoking . It will open many doors for you . Most employers , jobs and businesses look to non smokers now .

This is for insurance purposes I take it ? A requirement by the company you would be working for that you don't smoke . Referred here or to another program or you found yourself here ; however you got here , we are glad you are here . Regardless of why or how you came , or how you found us it's clear to me that ex smokers can help ex smokers even more than threats to quit , requirements to quit , or therapy to quit . Once you get a taste of freedom you want more .

I think you will even stay long after you are quit . You will have a passion to give back . My truth for being here is about the people , it's about desire to share with others that quitting can be done . Its about seeing another smokers just like me and you who thought they couldn't quit , or didn't want to quit see that it can be done . Our heart is in it not for any money , but because we care , truly care about lives . For me it's about the joy and the complete change I see in people and their health. It's about people like you who come here and share stories like yours l that quitting meant more than anything that makes me smile . You will have enough for your family, I promise you . Quitting smoking makes a way .

Thank you so much for your encouraging words. The place of employment is completely smoke free. I think that this will help me to stay quit long after the test because I would have to go the entire work shift without a cigarette everyday. I would also NEVER be able to smell like it or I would have to submit to another test if there was a suspicion of use.  Its crazy to see how the world is changing to no longer accommodate smokers in any way. This is really something big to think about for our children's future. I want to set a good example for my kids and hope that they never feel the urge to pick up a smoke. This could not only impact their heath but potentially the college they get into, or the job that they get.

Fingers crossed that I get the job! I think that working somewhere that I don't have to pass a smoking area will be a big help to my quit!! I am looking forward to getting back to work

SOON you will see people smoking and instead of feeling jealous, you will feel sorry for them.   They don't WANT to smoke; they HAVE to smoke - and you don't!!!

We all have our own motivation(s) for quitting smoking.  They all count.  Yours is a great one!

Congrats!  Keep it up!

9 days is a super beginning!
