Coming Alive!!

It is a little over 3 weeks smoke free and I feel like my body is coming alive. It never ceases to amaze me how amazing our bodies are and how they can repair themselves!! It makes me feel very bad about how long I abused my body by smoking. So what I will do now is treat it the best I can so it will heal!!

I love it that I can taste and smell things so much better. I also love how sometimes my body seems to tingle and I know that is because the nerve endings are repairing themselves.

LOVE LOVE LOVE NOT SMOKING!!!

Good signs that you are talking about. Glad you recognize them. Some people thing those things are bad when it's just the opposite. COngrats on 3 weeks and still going!  I promise you it just keeps getting better.

There are some things you need to prepare for now so you don't get caught off guard should they happen. Those are the out of the blue triggers that you can't or havn't anticipated. Have an easy and doable plan in your quit kit for just those times. Let's say you are headed toward a friends new home party and you are clearly lost. You might get stressed. You know what you would have done in the past but that is no longer an option.  What about taking a beline for the nearest quick mart that comes up and getting yourself an indulgent coffee or some other treat (bag of crunchy somethings). These will help produce endorphines and that will calm you down - sending that crave hurdling through space!  This works for many but may not for you so think of something that would and be ready to go for it when that type of trigger is pushing you towards the nicodemon.

I hope this will help you going forward Pam. Remember to drink that water and to blog should you find yourself in a vunerable situation. Feel free to contact me if you think I can help you further! You go girl!

The regeneration is amazing.  Once when I quit  I noticed my hair was softer.  Seems like there is not one area of ourselves that smoking does not affect.  Keep up the good work.  Believe

Maja - That is awesome!  Keep noticing the positive changes.  I've started journaling mine so I don't forget how far I've come.  The positive effects certainly help me when I get one of the out of the blue cravings.  They say,  no matter how extreme a craving gets it will pass within 3 minutes or so.  I always remind myself of that.  I do deep breathing as well.  Of course I have tootsie roll pops, cinnamon sticks and gum if it gets too strong, but one way or another I've managed to make it through each one of them.  I smoked over 40 years, I'm almost to my 2 month mark.  If I can do it, you sure can.  I'm pulling for you and congratulations on your progress, it takes tenacity and resolve which you obviously have.  I'm proud of you!!  Yay!!!!!
