Accelerated Urgent Care doctors recommend lifting shelter-in-place order

This is what we aren't being told.

Based upon the data for the last 2 months, NOT models or projections

These are doctors in the field who communicate with other doctors nationwide.

I beg to disagree with them.  How do you KNOW that you are not out and about giving this deadly virus to everybody you see, leaving it everywhere you touch - for up to TWO weeks?    And, then, everybody is taking it home to an elderly relative, or dying from it themselves? I HATE this isolation as much (or more) than the next person, but until widespread testing is available..................

Do YOU want to be the exception to the rule and die from this sh*t   - alone, on a respirator, with everyone around you looking like they are set to fly into space?  I have BEEN on a respirator, in ICU  - and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy - and I had family by my side!

I put up a link to it also.  I find it very interesting.  And even more interesting is the fact that Youtube censored it.

The sick or symptomatic stay home until the symptoms are gone

Did you hear what they said about your immune system becoming weakened by staying in?

That we come into contact with bacteria and virus every day and if we stay in we aren't building up our immune system.

When we go out, there are 10 things that could have been dealt with much better one at a time than all 10 at once.

Did you hear about all the child molestations, rapes, drug and alcohol abuse, spouse abuse, and suicides from being cooped up at home? Child molestation, rape, spousal abuse these things take a toll that lasts a lifetime.

You can go to the grocery store or home depot BUT you can't go to work is a crazy concept.

We're supposed to destroy society by keeping everyone inside?

Or did you listen?

Barbscloud

We don't know this yet.  It's too early.  According to their data, the death rate of the coronavirus is similar in prevalence to the flu.

JonesCarpeDiem

So the sick and compromised stay home

The doctors are in conflict with the Public Health Officials.  Which one is right?

JonesCarpeDiem

"Our job is to make you laugh."

Sounds like a reputable source.

JonesCarpeDiem

"This is not to say that individuals should not have their own opinions, or that their opinions will not turn out to be true."

What do you think shut us down?

Models

Models by some guy in Wisconsin or Minnesota.

Models that were way way way off

and we're still shut down because of those models

The child abuse and rape scar people for life and will have a longer lasting impact than this virus

Many will never recover from financial ruin.

I saw this last week My feelings it does make you question a lot of what is happening and a lot don't make sense.

Joyce and I even discussed  child molestations, rapes, drug and alcohol abuse, spouse abuse, and suicides from being cooped up at home plus those dying alone.

Now put me in a governors mansion with their swimming pools, bowling alleys, small cinemas. gardens etc... hell the Governors Mansion in Colorado in 2014 had a Three - Handle Draft Beer System  serving a rotating selection of local craft beer and I'm sure they have a large supply of toilet paper.

We have mayors violating their own orders other political leaders playing golf while a family member is telling people to stay home.  Before getting political I'll say this last thing

I'm high risk by age and emphysema.  I can decide what I feel safe with or what to avoid.

I would wear a mask to protect others if I went into a store      I believe in 6 foot distancing

JonesCarpeDiem

It's not about right or wrong.

It's about damage control for some by damaging everyone

JonesCarpeDiem

I'm with you.

We've learned what to do.

I thought that was the point of this time was a relearning of space and protection

I've got a mask

I've some gloves

I'm touching things

that others touched

Take off the mask

outside my car

it's the same mask

I've worn before

A lysol wipe

across the glove

Reach in my poc-ket

for my keys

I turn the key

within the lock

And then I open

My car door

But what about

that grocery bag

maybe droplets

sprinkled on

And maybe

I will never know

just what it was

that sent me home.

Unfortunately we may know what to do, but everyone is doing it.  Look at the beaches in CA.

JonesCarpeDiem

The beaches. The picture the media showed made it appear people weren't practicing social distancing. The police said they were.

Personally I think the more information we have, the more knowledge we gain, the better able we are to make decisions for ourselves.  That's why differing observations, points of view, opinions are important in concluding facts.  Facts are malleable.  Facts change with increased knowledge.  The world was flat until it was discovered round.

Barbscloud

That was just one example. There have been many more.    Doesn't matter what anyone else says, so why bother.  People are going to do terrible things not matter what's going on.  Abuse towards women goes up for the Super Bowel.  I don't hear anyone wanting to end the Super Bowl.  There really isn't much stopping you from doing what you want.  I choose to play it safe for now.    Have a party at your house.

I am with Nancy - and I disagree with this article. I have read and heard far too many other highly respected health experts express a very different opinion. Part of the idea of a the stay at home orders was to prevent the overwhelming of the health system so that we would not face what Italy faced. In my opinion, the models of death rates were wrong - because the “staying at home orders” kept the death rates lower. So, the orders worked! We will of course need to return to a somewhat  “normal” life eventually - but, (again IMHO) - we need to do it slowly and cautiously.

JonesCarpeDiem

The CDC just changed it's position yesterday and has now said there have been no more deaths than a normal flu season.

So I guess all you folks who want to stay in your homes have that choice. You've always had that choice..

I don't believe everything I hear either; but I believe my cousin, working as an OR nurse in a hospital near Bergamo/Italy.  She never had to see the OR transformed in isolation wards, have to wear the out of space costume, or having to be tested  twice/week in the last 6-8 weeks.  She never had to go through that during flu season, or had ever been told if the patient is over 65 give them morphine to ease their passing, if the patient is under, please intubate.

Yes, other doctors are not working, I cancelled mom's 2 upcoming appointments for a heart echo and the follow up with the cardiologist; she is doing fine.  The office called me yesterday and I rescheduled, for sometimes mid-May and beginning of June.

My husband has to work all this time, because they are contractors for the aviation industry and have government and private customers.  But he undresses on the patio, leaves the clothes outside to disinfect in the sun (and the nature is helping in AZ, today we were expected to reach 109).

We go shopping, everything goes only in the trunk, then what needs to come in the house right away gets sprayed, or Lysol wiped, otherwise it waits out on a table on the patio for at least 24h before we bring it in.  I disinfect my purse, the wallet, even the credit card I use to pay wherever I go.  We wear face masks in public, keep the distance from other shoppers, learned how to make Lysol spray and wipes, along with hand sanitizer in house.

We are not scared for us, but I will never forgive myself if I bring it in to mom, and make it the end of her.

They can compare it in prevalence, incidence, morbidity, mortality, whatever with the flu, as much as they want, I know what my family priorities are, and will live by our own standards.  I push back on hubby when he tries to brush it off as being a big societal lie, better safe than sorry!  He gets to go out every day, I don't, and I might be one of these wives ready to kill their long life husbands, but he is doing what I ask him to do, if he wants to still live with mom and me

What I find interesting in the CDC report you linked to is:  Based on death certificate data, "the percentage of deaths attributed to pneumonia, influenza or COVID-19 (PIC) decreased" (emphasis mine).  From the reading I've done, there's some speculation as to how they're attributing mortality.  If you have several underlying conditions and contract the virus also and die, they're just putting it down as a coronavirus death.  Just another piece of knowledge to add into the mix.

Well...since the country is beginning to re-open at various levels of speed, I guess we will see what happens.

I surely hope some of the scientists are wrong when they say there will be a resurgence..........and, I'll bet none of them will be unhappy if they are wrong..

Right now, we are preparing our child care centers for the re-opening date by our Governor......which has not been announced yet. I will say I don't envy any of the Governors who need to make these decisions......no matter what kind of place they live in......I'd prefer to pass on the responsibility of that decision and stay in my own little home (no movie theater, no bowling alley but the garden is pretty nice)

I hope you stay healthy and safe......you ALL mean a lot to me

Theres so much to learn about this virus and everyday they are learning new things. It does kill more than the flu. The numbers proof it.

We are never going to convince everyone to abide by their Governing powers no matter what State you live in because we all have thins thing called 'A Choice'. Even with social distancing mandates....people are still making their own choice to follow through or not. I cannot control others choices. I can only control mine.

I have decided not to go crazy worrying , as this virus is here, like it or not, until more facts are learned and a vaccine is developed. Meanwhile I know what I can control....my choices.

We wear face masks if we leave the house and gloves and clear eye protection. Do I care what others think, No.

I bleach off EVERYTHING as I individually remove them from the bag which I also bleach off  ( all while maintaining protective gloves etc...) Nothing comes into this house until it is disinfected, including shoes and some outer wear..Do I care what others think of my routine? Not a bit. Its my choice.

I visit with friends online, email, by text by phone, but really I have been so busy just doing things at home inside and outside. This will pass and America will recover.

I don't give a rip about anyones political view because to me anyway, well lets just say I believe all the political parties are a bag of$%##%. I wish political parties would be totally abolished and together as Americans, we would just be one. One Nation under God....but that again is my opinion and my choice.

I hardly ever put the news on. Thats me own 2 cents.

I choose not to smoke and I WILL practice social distancing and wearing protective  wear PRN. I had my share of risks when I was a smoker.....not goin' down that dark alley again when it risks my health and or my families.

Good discussion Dale! Stay well.

I don’t WANT to stay in my home. I am attempting to follow what I consider some wise advice from health experts in order to protect myself and to protect others.

JonesCarpeDiem

if you knew the backstory you might question those officials who shut down our country and their involvement with the virus.

Barbscloud

It also works both ways.  The cause of death can show the underlying condition reported to the state.  They may not have been tested for the virus or there's a lag in the COVID-19 diagnosis.

CDC Director Robert Redfield: Because American Public Did Social Distancing, Coronavirus Death Toll Will Be "Much, Much, Much Lower"

JonesCarpeDiem

We all know this so are we supposed to stay shut down for another 18 months based on information that has been over exaggerated by models that didn't pan out and a World Health Organization that misinformed us?

The more that is exposed, the more of us are assured we have a one sided bureaucracy, a one sided academic system, a one sided justice system and, a one sided media, along with big tech censorship, going all out to control the story.

The CDC changes its mind like 2 year olds. I don't recall seeing my lifetime anyway,,,,,,mass graves being built to bury the dead from the flu...as they are in NY for people who have died from COVID-19

I do know the conspiracy theory “backstories”....I don’t believe such conspiracy theories. Again - IMHO.

JonesCarpeDiem

Gee, putting words in my mouth?

Does saying the CDC changed their position mean I have faith in them? they are the ones who delayed the testing.

Barbscloud

You posted the information, not me.   It sure sounded like you posted it because you thought the information was significant that COVID deaths were equivalent to flu deaths.  So stay home if we want.  But I said:

Oh, I thought you believed the CDC.  My mistake.

They just discussed this on the morning news show.  The CDC can only share the information that they receive from the states.  They don't always get if from states.

JonesCarpeDiem

I already clarified why I posted it.

"the morning news show." HAR HAR HAR HAR. I already explained they are pushing a narrative.

This I know for sure. The only thing everyone agrees on is the Virus came from China.

I know someone  that will be losing his business his life savings and he will have to choose between a full house payment or partial house payment and medical insurance.  He wants to know how he is not essential but a store catering to pets is.  I know of several others who will be in the same position of choosing between a house payment or medical insurance by June.  They all feel human life essential including their own.  Talk to a single person in a small apartment and if they are happy and fine with no problems.

Now just IMHOP  I mentioned The Governors Mansion and I should have mentioned the Governors / Leaders   Most Governors / Leaders I would imagine don't have to worry about money, job, medical insurance, losing a home / business or even self worth.  Would their be a difference?   Do we wait for a cure a vaccine before reopening?  Have you ever wondered why the rich and wealthy are always be tested first. Or how they can find golf courses open, or have inside leads to sell stock before the crash.  It's hard for me to put faith into any of them including conspiracies or what one should take as being 100 percent true

Yes I know the virus is serious but   I know to wear mask / gloves, I know to social distance, I know to sanitize and disinfect, I knw where I should be or shouldn't be and I know how to leave.  Yes sadly not all will follow the rules.  Not all will conform.

I know I'm lucky as I have a yard to play in my house is mine and I have Joyce I do miss the hugs from my sons and grandchildren.

You're making it sound like all of us believe everything we hear.  That's not true or I'd being drinking clorox right now.   This is new to everyone and most of us are just trying to stay alive and not kill anyone else in the process.   Like I said before, you can do what you want.  No is stopping you.

JonesCarpeDiem

See, Barb that's what I mean. Misleading with the drinking Clorox comment. The only people who have purported that is the LIARS you listen to.

JonesCarpeDiem

Actually, the bat virus research began in North Carolina but was shut down in 2014 by homeland security over the fear it could become a pandemic. So what happened? in 2015, the last administration and Dr, Fauci went around the moratorium and gave the lab in Wuhan $3,7 Million dollars to continue the research. WHY?

Barbscloud
Member

Not really.  The only person I heard say that is your president.  If I listened to the liars I WOULD BE drinking it?????

JonesCarpeDiem

Show me where he said that Barb. That was made up by the batherers you  listen to.

Barbscloud

You need to catch up on the news!  This is why he stopped his daily news briefings.  Clorox had to come out afterwards and tell people not to drink it.

One less thing I'm sure about     LOL

JonesCarpeDiem

He did not say to drink bleach he suggested people had approached him with a light treatment and scientists had also mentioned something that could work like a disinfectant. He never said to inject lysol or drink bleach.

If that's where you get your news, you are blind , deaf and dumb

Hey Barb. How'd that Russia collusiion work out? All that money when they knew six months before it started that they had no case.

How'd the impeachment work out? Unimpeachable nothings from some ghost. The IG of intelligence changing the reporting rules from evidence to hearsay 3 days before the whistleblower came forward, AFTER HE HAD MET WITH SCHIFF'S attorneys while Schiff denied they ever met with him. Schiff STILL WITHHOLDING the hearing transcripts he doesn't want out there. [Personal attack removed]

You guys, don't get upset over something we have no control!  Nobody is asking us to open up or stay home; except private companies, like mine, where everything is done electronically, we are on mandatory work from home until May 8th; who knows what will come after that.  Otherwise, each can only do their best based on their understanding!!!

I'll give you an example: after reaching to the bottom of our supplies we though will last longer than they did, yesterday I went to Fry's; every store I've been to in the last couple of weeks, has a long line of carts already cleaned up for the next customer.

Yesterday I saw a lady, probably in her mid-seventies, doing what I used to do before covid 19: collecting a cart from the parking lot and entering the store; she had no gloves, no mask, and looked all happy; hopefully an employee saw her, stopped her for a minute, just enough to clean her cart.  Now tell me what was the lady doing shopping, no protection for herself what so ever, and potentially a happy carrier through the store?

It could have been any of the scenarios: she might not have a TV, or computer, or radio, she might have no family to help her shopping, or she might have dementia, not yet diagnosed or taken care of; it could have been anything!  Or, she might not care about covid whatsoever!!!

The virus is around us, we want it or not, it is NOT the flu, but, we, as a group of people, will have to somehow start building some kind of immunity, while still maintaining the protective gear and the social distancing.  It is what it is.  Getting upset over it is only decreasing our immunity, and we are all pretty much in the risk category, we want all the immunity we can get!!!

This is next facial mask I have on mind

To help stop coronavirus, everyone should be wearing face masks ...

Hello, My name is Dale. I was quit 18 months before joining this site and had participated on another site during that time. I learned a lot there and brought it with me. I joined this site the first week of August 2008. I didn't pressure myself to quit. HOW I QUIT I didn't count, I didn't deny myself to get started. When I considered quitting (at a friends request to influence his brother to quit), I simply told myself to wait a little longer. No denial, nothing painful. After 4 weeks I was down to 5 cigarettes from a pack a day. The strength came from proving to myself, I didn't need to smoke because I normally would have smoked. Simple yes? I bought the patch. I forgot to put one on on the 4th day. I needed it the next day but the following week I forgot two days in a row I put one in my wallet with a promise to myself that I would slap it on and wait an hour rather than smoke. It rode in my wallet my first year. There's nothing keeping any of you from doing this. It doesn't cost a dime. This is about unlearning something you've done for a long time. The nicotine isn't the hard part. Disconnecting from the psychological pull, the memories and connected emotions is. :-) Time is the healer.
