Checking in at 90 days

I went through weeks where I rarely thought of smoking. My husband has almost completely stopped smoking himself, which has made this a lot easier. Last week I took a plane to go visit my dad and how nice it was not to be miserable during the whole flight or needing to sneak away for cigarettes and feel guilty, or feel irritable if I wanted to smoke but couldn’t. Now I’m back home and spring is here—this first nice weather of the year has me reminiscing and romanticizing about sitting in the backyard and smoking cigarettes. I do not want to go back to smoking, I actually can’t go back to smoking, but the past few days have felt a little rougher. I’m also reducing my use of nicotine lozenges from 2 to 1 a day (this is day 3 of that) and I have noticed from past experience that reducing can bring on some cravings in the beginning. I know I am still in no man’s land at this point. It’s only been 90 days but it feels like it’s been a lot longer than that.
