Hey y'all! My name is Dina. I am recently quit smoking cigarettes. I am celebrating my first 24 hours without smoking in 4 years. I was a heavy smoker for about 3 and a half years. God is so good! Let me tell you why!!!.
I've been wanting to quit for a couple of months and I didn't know how on earth I would be able to do that. When I have no clue how to solve a problem, I pray about it. So, I did pray and asked God to help me to quit, less than half an hour later I received an email from my health insurance company offering the EX community program for smoker would like to quit. Right there, that was the quick answer to my prayers. I didn't hesitate at all to find out what was the program about. I found myself creating a profile and scheduling an appointment with an EX Coach. I added my quit date to be on the 31st of January. I started to smoke more thinking about how would I be able to do that on my own. Well, I am not alone when I have an army supporting my decision. I already felt disgusted every time I smoked . I started to pay more attention to all the benefits I could have , If I quit.
Few days passed and I received my Nicotine patches and lozenges in the mail. This is when I promised myself that day that it will be my last. I smoked my last to say goodbye even I didn't enjoy it. I said my goodbyes and never see you again yesterday at 12 pm. Since then, I haven't smoke even one. I managed to change my habits when drinking my coffee, after eating a meal or even facing a situation that stress me out and caused me to smoke before. Medications really help, breathing exercises and chewing gum as well.
Yesterday was an eye opening for me, when I didn't waste a minute away from my kids and spent the whole day with them. We played, laughed and goofed off as we all know how life is around a 7 and 4 years old kids, lol.
I also found out that evening yoga helps a lot with relaxation before bed, even my 4 years old daughter turned it into a circus 🎪 😅.
Sorry for the long post, but I thought one thing I would mention could help someone else is going through quitting.
Big thanks to y'all and Mike for the support and help!.
Happy quitting and have a blessed day!
Dina K.
