I've been vaping about a year. I'm so embarrassed I let it get this far. 

yesterday I made it until about 5pm - used gum twice. It's low dose, but helped my cravings.

Today I really want to make it all day. My lungs are sore, I have a scratchy throat. I want to get through my workouts being able to take deep full breaths. 

So much good ahead of me, I just need to get through one day. Then another.

So glad your here with us! Its tuff at the beginning but the more and longer you starve the brains receptors, the sooner the worst will be over with. Theres no way around it, unfortunately. Try Vicks vapor rub under your nose, that really helped me through some tuff craves. Also walking and jumping through craves on my mini tramp.

Congratulations and welcome, you are in good hands.  It took a while for some of us to understand the "one day at the time", but that is really all you can do; no looking back with regrets will change today, no looking in the future will change how you get through the craves today.  Stay in the moment, use whatever advice you received so far, and use us as your support system.  Please ask questions, read blogs, occupy your mind and your spirit with something else than holding a cigarette, or thinking about it, electronic or not

So happy you recognize the horrible risks associated with this!!  I tried gaping many years ago...horrible is the only word I can come up with.  Freedom is all yours, you can do this.  This is a whole new frontier of destroying our bodies..lead the way to freedom, share your journal.

when my husband had his stroke and they came in to help us to find ways for him to quit, we were told to have him suck on cinnamon sticks.  it serves 2-fold. 1st, if fits your hand like holding a cigarette and 2nd, cinnamon curves your appetite for nicotine .  but you are doing great.   but if the craving gets too bad, you can suck on a cinnamon stick instead
