Breaking out ALL of the resources

I am on my 30th day quit and so proud of myself! I have used (and continue to gather) every resource possible including this website. Before I quit I used an app for my phone that helped me track my smoking. After a few days, when I'd push the button to smoke it would ask me if I could wait so many minutes which eventually turned to hours. I signed up for a paid study at smokefree.gov; they sent me mini lozenges that I use faithfully. They also do the phone check in weekly to talk about how I'm doing. I like the lozenges because I feel more in control. With the patches I felt like when things got hard, rubbing my patch just didn't provide the control I needed. I've created my own list of positives from not smoking. Each day I add to it....like today I added easier to breathe walking up a flight of stairs (which I had to do this morning). I also downloaded a stop smoking hypnosis app that I listen to most days and/or nights. I've quit drinking alcohol and sodas and have switched to nothing but water.  When things get really rough, I walk even if it’s just circles around the house.  And as rewards for myself, I’ve whitened my teeth and had a facial.  It hasn’t been easy, but I know I will NEVER smoke again.  I know this may seem like overkill to some, but frankly whatever it takes, right?  If anyone has additional resources or ideas, let me know.  🙂

Overkill? No my dear, no. This is exactly what we mean when we say that you need to re-learn life without cigarettes, that you need to find, and be comfortable in/with your new normal.  Being sucessful in a quit doesn't come by accident or "just because." There is planning and work involved, but it is so worth it as you are realizing. Congrats to you on 30 days :). I pat you on the back. You are doing this! N.O.P.E.

It's called "Easy Stop Smoking" by Darren Marks.  I think it was a $5.  I love it.  I always wanted to try hypnosis, but we don't have it in my county.

Welcome to Ex serpas and CONGRATS on 3O DAYS SMOKEFREE!

CHOOSE to quit smoking, not try and we will support you. Educate yourself by reading these links to the materials that most of us have used to help us quit and STAY quit! This is about making a DECISION to never put another cigarette in your mouth, mean it, and be committed to follow through on that decision. Also allow NO excuses AND hang in there for as long as it takes, no matter how uncomfortable you become.... This is about re-learning your life WITHOUT cigarettes....start changing your "normal" routine....because a smoker's routine revolves around cigarettes. You will be a nonsmoker so change how you start your morning so it doesn't revolve around cigarette breaks, etc. You CAN do this......nobody said it will be easy, we just said it would be worth it....http://digg.com/newsbar/topnews/Allen_Carr_s_Easy_Way_To_Stop_Smoking_Download_free_PDF
