I posted this back on my 5th day of not smoking... thought Id share it for new quitters...

I dont wake up hackin up fur balls every mornin

I don't cough now- cept an occasional "junk in my lungs release'

I saved about 30.00

I don't get stressed out about HAVING to go outside

or get hot in the heat

or If I have enough smokes to last til tomorrow

I am more layed back, not edgy

Zoey isnt sneezing

I dont smell like smoke

I smile more

I CAN SING REALLY LOUD WITHOUT COUGHING

i DONT FEEL RUSHED TO HURRY AND EAT FAST just so I cango out and smoke

I took the trash out today without getting winded WOW

I cleaned the whole salon without a break.

Im not "hiding" in my cave, or in my back yard puffin my life away

Ive made positive choices'

My best friend quit smoking too

I was more relaxed when doin nails yesterday (more productive)

I dont have to blow my nose 5 times in the mornin, every mornin

My voice sounds better

Dont have to clear my throat all day long

Curl my nose up in disgust when I even smell smoke

My 5 days without smoking have brought me so much...

This is just what I notice, off the top of my head 🙂

woohoo, you go girl. yep. I've been having allergies this week, cedar is bad, but I just keep thinking if I smoked this would be miserable. I would have to wake up hours early just to clean out all of the gunk before I go to work.

Thank you, as John said, and thank God we quit. 🙂

Way to go JO.  You are a long ways ahead of me in days and hours, but I in my own mind know that I can do it.  I also I know that it will be  possibly a little harder now (or at least thats what I have been told) that I am in NML.  I am not looking forward to those bad urges that come out of nowhere and last a while.  Maybe I widll be lucky and it won't happen to me.   Ha Ha.

Have a good quit

I am at day 95 and I just learned how to make a hand shadow that looks likes a 1975 Chevy Cavalier being driven by Johnny Depp while wearing a pair of lederhosen.

I noticed I have a few extra bucks on me ... instead of buying cigarettes. I’m trying to eat slowly as to enjoy my food rather than rush to have a cigarette. I also started drinking more water, crystal light and iced tea rather than diet cola ( my go to beverage when I smoked).

Overall I'm good.  Handling the triggers.  My apartment smells better.  Having this app and the voices of others is helping my success rate.

It's not bad enough  that I am depressed, someone who is supposed to be a supporting person just got got me so frickin stressed out I just asked a total stranger for a cigarette for a dollar. He gave me 2 and I smoked them both! 5 weeks down the drain! I have failed again! I guess the fact I didn't go buy a pack is a good thing but still I am so angry with myself!

Thank you for this in site. I feel bad because I couldn't keep my five days but I am giving it another try, starting now. I do appreciate the stories of success of others because it gives me the strength and power to continue to try and quit. I know I can do it with the help of this site.

I have made it to day 5 . I also noticed I could smell the tobacco on someone else. I still have a little cough light I. Throat that is not gone . I think it might be from the steroids I got because I got bit by a Brown recluse my 3 day in of not smoking . I have stood not smoked or takin a puff.

I’m on day 10 and it really is a one day at a time process. I’m trying to be kind to myself.

Have felt moody, but thinking of myself not having to hide in the bushes or shadows anymore to smoke is nice.  I am convinced that I am the ONLY person in this zip code who is/was a smoker.
I can enjoy the sunshine and I don’t have to find excuses to sneak outside to smoke, I can go and just enjoy the fresh air and flowers.

Day 13 no smoke no matter what. I am noticed more clear smells when someone walks by . I tried this time by also lining up the quit date with the farmers  Almanac seems to working great . I just get fleeting sensation that hay I want a cigarette than it passes is not strong . It is almost like the act of doing it is what I miss for a moment

5 days for me I think I need to stop the lozenges because I'm getting a sore in my mouth so far the patches doing the job I poured some breath savers they seem to be a bit better than the other icebreakers I had maybe they will be a substitute for the lozenges oh well don't need any sores in my mouth that's for sure.

I breathe just fine I have more energy. I'm more alert and awake. I'm not busy scratching up $13 for cigarettes that's for sure. I knew I reach bottom when I was feigning out for cigarettes and wondering where I was getting my next pack or how I was getting my next pack and not worrying about where I was getting my next meal from like a junkie go figure that out.

The only thing that gets me is I smell everything my nose is in full effect OMG I smelled someone open the banana and the smell got to me so bad I felt like puking. And I smell everybody that smokes they smell like shit OMG is that what I really smells like I can't disgusting. Wow another day smoke-free I'm doing this a day at a time and let's hope that I stay stopped.

I have saved an average of like 10 dollars a day and don’t have to smell like smoke anymore

Day 5 from my official "quit day". I don't miss the things that I used to smoke. Love the money I saved. Love being able to keep the doors open compared to closing myself away so I could hide my habit. Love not having to go for smoke breaks all the time. Cigarette smell hasn't been an issue since Europe. Love that I can be better for my significant other, he's also an ex-smoker for much longer than I. Love the support from friends and family that I have told about my decision to quit. I also feel healthier and less out of breath, though not when I'm hiking, howver getting healthier and losing weight is proving to be much harder than quitting nicotine. Love the feeling of empowerment behind the decision to quit to prove that I could do it and, for the past few weeks really, I have been doing it.

Can't tell who is a bit and who is not...

For all real people good job not smoking!

Find a place to look into the sky night or day, and be amazed at the beauty lack of oxygen to your brain and eyes (smoking) has kept you from seeing.

I'm glad I was able to be of help.  This group made the difference in my quit.  There are times I think about smoking but I don't want to start over with a new quit.  That thought keeps me going.  Stay strong and motivated.  You will succeed

Congrats on your milestone,  the longer you go helps.  I'm at 776 days since I quit.  But I do have days when I really feel the urge.  What stops me is I don't want to go back to do all that work again.  I want to keep going nicotine free.  I'm proud of your progress, this site is what saved me.

Day 5

i can breathe easier

I’m eating more consistently

I’m not shaky

my throat isn’t sore

my mouth isn’t dry

I’m not lightheaded

I don’t have as many headaches

I don’t feel rushed to complete tasks so I can vape

i have a free hand now that I’m not holding my vape 24/7

I feel more relaxed, especially after being so on irritable the first couple days

I’m excited to keep going!
