Beer and My Quit

I like beer.  I especially enjoy a very cold beer with good company. Unfortunately, beer is also a trigger. Beer is more of a trigger than anyother drink even more than coffee.  So to manage this, I have said yes to a beer with a meal then, that is it.  I would like nothing more then to have another beer but I'm scared to death my defenses will be down and I will smoke.

I have recognized the trigger, identified the trigger, shared my feelings about the trigger and set up my plan for this trigger.  I will limit the beer until the time when I am very strong in my quit. On a positive note, beer is really high in calories and I really do not want to gain a bunch of weight anyway. Funny thing is when I explain that I really can't afford to drink a second beer because I have quit smoking and I fear I will be tempted to smoke, the feedback I get is very supportive. I am finding the even strangers are supportive of me not smoking. 

I really will not smoke for another 24 hours.  I am proud of my decision to not smoke. I'm glad I'm finding ways to put my quit 1st in my life. I feel really good.
