I am very happy to say that my husband has joined me in being free of smoking. We have enjoyed the past year of freedom together. Loving every day and breathing fresh air with no regrets about the work we went through to get to where we are.

We don't live in denial anymore. A huge part of being able to quit for the both of us was just being honest with ourselves. Admitting how scared we were of failing to quit, or of losing parts of ourselves helped us to discover that it wasn't as hard to quit as we thought, and the obvious realization that smoking does not define us. It never did. It was just something we did, it was Never who we are.

I sincerely hope those of you starting your journey take the time to enjoy your successes and forgive yourself any failures. It's not an easy thing to do, but it is more than worth it.

Best of luck, and know this, I believe in you. I know that you can do it, put aside your fears and go all in.
