So Sorry I Have not been here. There were suddenly too many unexpected triggers and I completely bit the dust. Not making excuses AT ALL. Actually, I learned alot - You know, anything can happen at any time and if my mind is not absolutely made up then any trigger can be the big one!
But, honestly, these were big and very unexpected, my son needing emergency surgery while my husband is in a very unstable third world country and my daughter pops up with needing financial help and some counsel, four states away. In the middle of trying to send three of the young people i work with, to a four day camp, one whose mother has been taken to the emergency room. The good news ... well, like i said .... lesson learned - we have to have a made up mind, no matter what comes our way.

So, I quietly went back to the starting line ... humbly got on my knees and prayed and so far ....I have 7 + days completely smoke free. Difference this time? I am just done - thats all - just done and won't let even one cigarette into my mind. One won't solve anything, one won't help me relax, one won't stop any craving ... it just comes back and back and back, one won't help me, .............. one has alot of friends that will torment & eventually kill me.
Thank You, to those who have checked in. I so appreciate this site and the awesome people here. I truly hope you all find the grace and strength to make today the best day possible and to do it smoke free.

Love to All

Life goes on after we quit. There is no reason to smoke, only excuses. It's a good thing that you're back.

Sherri,
I have been so occupied with all my "stuff" I had missed that you relapsed. I am so sorry about that. You need to realize how strong you are to be able to come right back again. WTG and Congratulations on 1 week.

Reset your clock so we can come watch your progress with you. I know you can do this. Don't let stress be the reason you continue to smoke. Just think of each puff of that cigarette is taking moments and hours and days away from your life that you could share with your children/grandchildren and husband. Hugs to you!

Hi Sherri...I can see that you were really overwhelmed with stress, but we just all have to get to the point where NO MATTER WHAT...even death can't make us blow our quit. Those situations are all nico-demons pulling and enticing us...trying to trick us into thinking that smoking would really make us feel better. You didn't say if it helped or not. From my past experiences, it didn't help me. It only made me feel worse because then I had self-loathing on top of the horrible problem. Congratulations on making it through Hell week! You just have to keep in mind that those first days are just something to get through like an illness and it WILL pass. Then you'll be back to feeling great again!
