Share your quitting journey
Embrace your quit , don’t brace for failure . Fighting it takes energy .Embrace it and welcome the freedom you are receiving today . Embracing your quit takes way less energy .
( Imagine this .. fighting vs embracing ) How does each one make you feel ? Embracing is like a big ol huge warm hug after an argument . How does that make you feel when you are hugged and loved ? Better ? less stressed ? calm ? easier to breathe ? How do you feel if you are continuously fighting for hours upon hours over one silly little thing or a serious huge thing that you and your partner can’t agree upon . Unstoppable anger , sad , unstoppable tears and exhausted ? Do you want to give up , maybe after it you won’t even able to function for the rest of entire day .
I was a slow learner , it took me a while to embrace my quit , to let go , breathe and trust that I would be ok having fun , being happy and moving on with life just as before . It took me a while to realize I wasn’t ending my life ! I was renewing it ! I didn’t have to fight .
I do get get it though if you are thinking ya easy for her to say . I know quitting is not easy but still I want to share with you this post because looking back I see what I should have learned sooner but didn’t understand and could have changed how hard my quit was to maybe being a little easier .
You don’t have to wait a month , a year or ten years to embrace your quit . That option to accept your quit and embrace it is always there for you . You decide when . Breaking free of the things that hold us captive as addicts is always our choice when .
Quitting is a process whether you fight the craves or not and it’s the same process for us all . One day at a time . Life doesn’t have to be put on hold because of your quit , nor is life on hold for you to start enjoying that freedom . Todays going to happen craves or not . Quitting is a gift , so why not enjoy your day today . Make it happen . When you do , your thoughts of smoking lose their power .
