I vowed not to eat the cookies at work, I work in a restaurant. So I made it all day, then I went to the grocery store and bought a box of peanut butter cookies. I really am trying to avoid sugar, I have blood sugar issues...but ...it's so hard. !
I can relate in a diffrent way, I am not spose to eat or drink any thing accidic. that include a few ,like tamattoes. Fruits except for blue berries and pears. NO coffee or soda, Just to name a few. basicly Its a very bland deit. We I love Itlian food, um most of the good stuff has tamattoes. O and here is anothe biggie no chocolate. The list long.
I do like sugar. but their only so much I can give up. Do I fallow 100% NO
Oh yes I love cookies especially peanut butter cookies yum yum!!!!!!!!!!!
I am a diabetic type 2 so I have to watch out for the high sugar.
As long as we just have maybe ¼ of a cookie, a protein and a low carb food with it I think that is ok at least for me but I won’t eat the whole cookie even though I want it very badly.
Now I want cookies crap.
Cookies……..Cookies……..Cookies……. see I am chanting now for cookies LOL.
I am not a big sugar fan but noticed a huge uptick in my desire for sugar after I quit! I asked a colleague who is an addiction counselor and she new this to be an issue in abstinence from alcohol but not cigarettes? She found it curious and suggested I have some blood work done but she also did a little research! Turns out cigarettes have a fair amount of sugar in them for flavor so maybe our bodies just need to adjust to the loss!
I can't seem to stay away from sugar. But that was not new to quitting. It does seem to be worse now though. I am hoping it will taper off after a while.
Yes at Niyema cigarettes do mess with your blood sugar and alchohol is sugar. That's why they have coffee and cookies at AA meetings, which I have been to a plenty of.....
IT's hard, I keep trying...but I am also thinking like the person above that was saying as long as you don't eat nothing but sugar...and get a good source of protein. But the truth is, I think sugar is making me tired.
But it is like you said, my ex MIL is a nurse and she said it's not what you do eat, it's what you don't eat. But she was referring to fiber. lol.
Ok, well keep it up people. I'll try and check back in and keep you posted about my battle with sugar.
And coffee. Yes I have also had stomach problems,.....can be boring that's for sure.
Yep, I used to be addicted to sugar until 3 weeks ago when the Dr, told me I was diabetic and had to go on a sugarless diet, Ack! I really didn't want that news. Oreos were my thing, I would eat a couple first thing in the morning, after lunch, after dinner and then at bedtime, And i wondered why I was overweight, LOL. I've been off the sugar since I was told and feeling a lot better. I've lost 12 lbs!
I do love my sugar at times. sometimes my cravings would be so bad but i did notice if I didnt keep feeding myself the sugar, i didn't crave it in the end. Wow,,thats kind of like nicotine addiction.
