I went to the doctor tody and they told me that sometimes after quitting for 4 to 6 months, a person wil start to cough up stuff that has been in their lungs from smoking.  Just for a little while.

Yes I've heard that actually. Its just your body getting rid of the toxins and yucky stuff! haha. My mother is a nurse and said this is completely normal. I've tried to quit in the past and was concerned. It's healthy. Don't be worried. It won't CONTINUE the WHOLE 4-6 months, but you could come up with some more later on. It usually starts to clear up within the first 30 days is what I have heard. *I am not a medical professional... but apparently that is what your doctor is telling you so I hope he/she knows what they are talking about. haha 🙂

Hi katherine, I have heard this before. Not too sure where. I'm sure it'll stop after all the crap is cleared out! Take care!

That's interesting, are you saying no cough for a few months and now cough? That's kinda what's happening to me, but I attribute it more to the pollen and mold in the air here. either way it's good to get stuff out, that's for sure..I had thought it would happen right away, and kept waiting for it. shrug.

Every now and then I'll heave up a huge load of black lung butter... feels good to get rid of it...

hmm, been coughing off and on, have a stuffy nose, thought it would be cleared up by now.  So, one less thing to stress out about  - good to hear this is "normal" - lol
