An Unknown Land

This is strange territory for a 40 year smoker beginning his 24th day as a non-smoker. A reality check over the weekend has forced me to look at the future and admit to myself that as a Smoker, I never pondered the idea of living the rest of my life without them. Now, with success springing forth, a 40 year lifestyle is longer an option. The idea of re-learn is a great come-on to get people like me involved in this program, but as a SMOKER, it just seems like a GOOD IDEA, not really reality.

Today it is beginning to be REALITY, and as some of us already know, one GIANT step that has to be taken to insure success. I wish everyone in this program , including myself the wisdom to see through this glass and perservere.

Cliff,
Deep-down I probably didn't rally believe I could do it.
I woke up one day and I couldn't go back.

Thank you Debbie,
I do not know for sure, but this may be the 1st in a series of a long term smoker communicating on the difficulties of "working it out"

Hey John. I signed on here because I thought it was a "good idea"...I didn't even promise myself to try again. I got hooked and started to believe that I could do it. Aside from my own quit, I think that is why I try to be here alot and encourage others that are new. That is what really helped me do this!
