Almost done with day 1. My brain seems a little scattered (serious time distortion/zoning out). Went to the gym, and felt the biggest crave of the day in the car going home. Busted a guitar string in the first 5 minutes practicing. No replacements. No problem. Worst part to the day has been not having anything to do. Idle time....picking up that guitar, string or no string.

Welcome, Jay. 'Sounds like a Day 1 - "brain seems a little scattered and time distortion/zoning out". You need to just hang on and ride out the craves - they really will get weaker and farther apart. I'm on Day 21 and so seldom think about it now, but on Day 1 it was the hot topic in my brain. By Day 4 you will probably feel much better. Hang in there.

Sounds like you are doing pretty darn well for Day One. That is a day when you just have to muddle through, hour by hour. It won't be pretty.

Watch some videos. Read a little Allen Carr. Find the smokeless tobacco articles on whyquit.com.

You are doing great. One third of the way to having every last molecule of nicotine out of your body and you have just proven to yourself that you can go a whole day with a pinch. That's kinda cool, huh?

Kinda cool, yes. It will probably seem much cooler later. Working on the articles now. I'm surprised I still feel like I have a sense of humor. No one else probably thinks so, though.

Jay, great job keeping your quit through day 1. Now you are well on your way and there is no turning back because you never want to do day one again! Hang in there for the first week, it is so well worth it.
