Almost a Year

My quit date anniversary is next month January 18, 2019. I relapsed June 2016 after quitting for three years. It was even harder to quit this last time. I was so frustrated because I could not breathe but I could not quit. I am so grateful to be smoke-free. I found out this year that I had damaged my heart. I am still working hard to repair my body. I am enjoying my career in healthcare where smoking is shunned. I feel that I am setting a good example for my family as three friends and family members quit when I did.

Brava!  You most definitely ARE setting a good example, wow friends and family members quit because of you.  How 'bout that.  Inspiring!

I used to cough for at least two hours every morning before I quit. I could tell that my health was failing and yet it seemed like I didn't care. I even smoked as I was coughing. Even as I thought of what smoking was doing to me and my future, I continued feeding those nicotine receptors because I'd smoked so long  didn't think there was any other way. I smoked because well, I was an addict. Now that's what I call a strong addiction! But in the end, just like you I found a way out of being an addict. It takes time, but as you now know, it's time well spent.

CONGRATULATIONS on saving your future and making it so bright! I'm sure you're feeling the freedom about now!

ONWARD TO FREEDOM!!!

Congratulations on 1 year! That is awe inspiring for sure:) I also am working in healthcare, clinicals at a hospital and volunteering at a nursing home.  I used to be so paranoid that everyone could tell.  It tortured me.  It is actually one of the biggest reasons I quit.  It’s so nice to not have to worry anymore and have my brain power go to things that actually matter, like doing a good job! Congrats again! Celebrate!!
