All I want to do is sleep

I was fine up until this weekend. I'm 3 weeks into my quit and now all I want to do is sleep. This weekend all I did was go from my bed to the sofa and back to bed again. I've  always been an early riser but now I don't want to get up. Has anyone else had this issue? I typically get about 6 hours of sleep a night but this weekend I bet I slept about 18 out of 24 hours both days.

I slept a lot early in my quit but I did that to beat the craves. Maybe your body is healing itself and sleeping is the best time for our bodies to heal. I wouldn’t worry about it too much right now but if it continues I would mention it to your doctor. Congrats on 3 weeks!

Nicotine is a stimulant. When I stopped it, I used get tired during the day and take naps. I would sometimes have to stop driving. You'll adjust to it in time.

Perfectly normal at your stage of the quit.  Your body needs time to adjust and heal.  Sleeping is OK 'cause guess what?

YOU ARE QUITTING SMOKING!  How cool is THAT?

It's definetly normal and it's giving your body and mind much needed rest and you are stacking up your precious DOF too! YAY for each and every Day WON and yay for Smokefree living, it's definetly going to get easier and easier with time under your belt.....

It's okay...unless you are sleeping because you are depressed.  If that's the case...see your doctor and get an antidepressant, being sleepy at the beginning of a quit is perfectly normal but if it goes on, there is a chance that you are just trying to escape.  You are doing great but I get the feeling that you don't realize that...be kind to yourself.  Do something just for you, something that will make you smile.

I bought an Oreo Blizzard today. Does that count? FYI I haven't had a blizzard in years but that's probably due to living in St. Louis and being near Ted Drews.

Yes, that counts.  Is there any chance that you can do some sort of exercise that will raise your heat rate?  That releases dopamine and is known to help with depression (if that's what you are experiencing).  Keep going one step at a time...there are no short cuts in this journey...you CAN do this, you have to make your own rewards, give yourself something to look forward to, I don't mean sleeping although I will admit that I am rather fond of naps myself.  Hang in there, it will get easier, "the only way out is through."  Have you done any reading about NML (No Man's Land)?  That's coming up pretty soon for you and it's best to be prepared...read this if you haven't already and read it again if you have...written by JonesCarpeDiem‌ https://excommunity.becomeanex.org/groups/best-of-ex/blog/2011/05/24/no-mans-land-days-30-to130-appr...

P.S. I, personally, prefer the Jamocha shake from Arby's, it is the ONLY thing I get there and I only get it about once a year but oh my.
