Well I am on day 33 today and let me just tell ya I am so psych'd! I have come to realize I have missed out on certain pleasures due to the cost of smoking and I will stand for it no longer! LOL.... At my 20th day I bought myself a nice watch as a lil gift for my accomplishment, at the 25th day I bought a 52 inch plasma TV, and tomorrow which will be my 34th day I am picking up my brand new 2009 Toyota Camry! I know I havent saved that much money yet but I see it this way, cigs were costing me 7.50 a day at lease and some days 10.00 as they are around 5.00 a pack so that translates to about 230.00-310.00 monthly, and recreational smoking was about 100.00-160.00 wekly which translates to 430-688.00 monthly for a grand total of 660.00-998.00 a month. Well TV Cost me 998.00, watch cost me 160.00, car payment is 300.00 month... So I have already saved enough to pay the watch and the TV and when my first car payment comes due I will be 700.00 in the positive after the car payment and not to mention how great I feel and how much self esteem has risen through the roof = PRICELESS. All of this in less than 2 months time... I guess there are a lot of different ways to look at it but LOOK AT IT and make your plan... Its not a punishment as you can see here but rather a reward! I mean who doesnt want these things? We have all passed up on one if not all of these things cause we couldnt "afford it" and it was without question that we could afford the bad things like cigs and other crutches IE alcohol, recreational items and such. How odd and pathetic is that...... Doing the math on all that I have spent in the last 23 years it totals around 275,000.00+ dollars.... Can you say WTF and theres my total mortgage paid for, kids college educations, vacations that we never took (cause we couldnt afford them) etc... I think we all see the point, or do we? I know I do... And the next time my sons look at me with half tilted heads cause their friends have the new ipod touch and they still have the ipod nano, I wont feel like a total schmuck and a liar when I tell them we cant do it.... Or when the hubby says "god we could use a vacation" and I can turn around and say without hesitation "where would you like to go first"? This is pretty much a no brainer...ya think??????????????
