This is actually common when you quit smoking and can last for a few days to a few months. Your body is healing and the tightening can be from anxiety, stress along with the healing. Of course we cannot diagnose and if your symptoms persist or get worse you should be be seen by your family Doctor. I had this same thing happen to me and also was dog tired. HOWEVER, I had another friend who was actually having a silent heart attack. She is ok. Her pain never let up and got worse with activity . She went to an ER. SO...like I said, never take chest pain for granted if it is not normal for you. You can never be to careful.

Welcome to our community!

From Medhelp:

"Kudos to you for quitting smoking! Cough wheezing tightness of chest are all part of the withdrawal symptoms..."

I recently wrote a blog for the newly quit and asked for input from our members:  https://excommunity.becomeanex.org/message/109313-for-our-new-years-quitters-and-community-members-t....  You might find this helpful.

Congratulations on your decision and your first four days!  Keep at it!  You will start to feel better and better - just give it some time!

Thank you everyone for the quick response

i’m doing  excerise like jogging and walking daily for arround 20 minutes since I quit smoking.

But I need another help for all of you as I have some questions

1 :- what are the foods I should avoid after quitting smoking both solid and liquid?

2:- can I drink tea with milk and dairy products as I feel relaxed while have it cos i was have itchy throat before I quit smoking? And if I have dairy products does it have negative effects?

3:- how to divert mind for getting negative thoughts in mind?

Milk and dairy is associated with increased phlegm production. White and green tea are highly recommended as detox that will help the removal of tars and nicotine from your body. Caffeine in general is doubly powerful during withdrawal so it is highly recommended to either eliminate or at least cut in half intake. Replace with cranberry juice that you should drink throughout the day to maintain steady blood sugar levels. It also help to eat 6-7 small meals a day for awhile instead of 2-3 heavy meals - to establish steady metabolism and prevent overeating.

Welcome to EX, looks to me like you have gotten some great advice above.  Stay close to the site, keep asking questions and keep listening to the answers.  This site got me through some very rough times and I will be forever grateful!

Again, welcome.
