The smoking dreams, I mean.

The other night, I had a smoking dream that was not a smokemare, really.  I dreamed I was smoking--a cigar! I have never smoked a cigar in my life, and in the dream, I was thinking, "I have never smoked a cigar in my life--why am I doing this?"  and then, in the dream, I remember thinking, "Well, I am glad I have saved this ashtray so I can put the ashes in it."

I actually did save ONE ashtray when I quit.  Because it is an anitque, advertising ashtray that I just have sitting around.  I never even think of smoking when I look at it.

But, in my dreams, I remembered to use it.

I just have to laugh.  My dream did NOTHING to change my attitude and feeling about quitting.  It just feels like, "Yeah, that was a part of my life a long time ago.  I don't even want or need it now.  It just shows up in dreams and thoughts at times."

If you have just quit, and are struggling, please take note,  After awhile (It will be 2 years in May, for me), it is just something you used to do.  Like so many things we have graduated from.

IT DOES GET BETTER!!!!!  Don't doubt it for a minute.  You are on a journey, and part of the journey is learning life WITHOUT cigarettes.  Please believe us when we say, life is soooooo much better on this side of quitting.
