Hello All,

This is my first post here. I've smoked for 40 years, and I've come close to quitting before but never quite got it done. I am about to set another quit date, but I have one mental stumbling block I'm trying to resolve - thought I'd share it here in the hope that I'm not the only one who has ever felt this way:

I am having a really hard time dealing with the thought that I can never smoke again; I really do want to quit, but as much as I want to I can't quite wrap my mind around not ever having a cigarette again. It makes me feel sad, almost! I already learned the hard way that I can't just have one once in a while, because I end up back where I started. Anyone else have this feeling when they got serious about quitting?
