Please come and join! There will be helpful hints to keep the weight off while quitting. If you're interested, I will be posting these. If not, best to all of you and many blessings in your life of being a non smoker. Thanks, Suesan

Are you saying you're starting a group called Athletes who quit? Could you please post a link to it?

Yes, is this a discussion only or a new group? If it's a discussion, I'll stick my two sense (sic) in! I work out 3-6 times a week in various modes and can still not get the weight off. I eat very little junk food and lots of veggies. So please, give me a hint I don't know in how to keep the weight off? Not really a fair question as I just think it's a matter of age related metabolism change, but hey - I'm open for any suggestions. Just don't tell me to work out more because that's an impossibility.

The quickest way to drop weight, (no joke) is to do cardio, while eating and drinking only ORGANIC foods. This really is true. I have no trouble keeping the weight off. Eat NO pork, ever! This is absolutely horrible for you. It is infested with parasites. Do a total body cleannse. Start with the colon cleanse. It is amazing how much crap (literally) our body has stored and we don't even know it! parasite cleanse next. If you eat lots of veggies, it is likely you have pasasites. Follow up with the liver cleanse. Get back to me after you do these. Even if you don't exercise at all, doing a colon cleanse, will make your tummy smaller! You can go to Walmart and get one for only 10.00. There's no noeed to spend a fortune on overpriced supplements. Drink green tea and take Siberian ginseng. It needs to be the Siberian.

Hey Suesan, Sounds like you're back to your old self again! I'm losing weight steadily and doing a cardio plan similar to what you describe, but I favour the stationary bike. Intervals, and steadily increased resistance over the weeks. I'm lifting weights too, and loving that. I quit drinking, and the weight just started to fall off. Now I'm really into it. Smoking isn't even an issue anymore, so I haven't been on the site as much. At first it was every day, a few times a day, but now I check in once a week or so. Happy to see you again! Thanks for the tips!

How much cardio do you do? How are the genetics in your family? Do others struggle with keeping it off? When you do your cardio, do you switch it up? If you do the same thing over and over, your body gets adjusted to it and plateaus. It is necessary to do cardio five times per week. One day, run, then bike, then do a class, then run again then swim, or bike.Go fast, then slow, fast then slow. Don't jog at one steady pace, your body adjusts to this type of workout. As you will notice, it gets easier to do, the more you do the same thing at the same pace. If you don't have a bike, take a spinning class .If possible, do it on an empty stomache. This will make you burn fat, rather than food. Also, one caffeinated drink actually helps with workout. More than one is a hindrance. How much sugar do you intake? Do you eat breakfast? After workout, do you intake carbs and protein?
