ITS TIME FOR ONE OF MY FAMOUS ASS KICKING BLOGS

IT BECOME APPARENT TO ME THAT SOME PEOPLE CHOSE TO ALLOW HOLIDAYS ..

DRINKING.. PARTIES.. FAMILY GET TOGETHERS AND WHATEVER OTHER EXCUSE... BLOW THEIR QUIT.

LISTEN .. CHRISTMAS TIME AND NEW YEARS, THE HOLIDAYS.. ARE NO DIFFERENT THAN ANY OTHER TIME OF THE YEAR.

THIS IS ** NOT A JOKE ** THIS IS NOT AN OPTIONAL PART OF THE HOLIDAYS TO HAVE JUST ONE OR 2 CIGARETTES AND BLOW YOUR QUIT.

SMOKING KILLS
.. EVEN DURING THE HOLIDAYS

IF YOU CANT CONTROL YOURSELF AROUND SMOKERS THAN GET YOURSELF OUT OF THAT SITUATION

IF DRINKING IS TOO MUCH OF A TRIGGER THAN STAY HOME ON NEW YEARS EVE

ITS NOT A JOKE.. SOME OF YOU HAVE BLOWN YOUR QUITS AND ACT LIKE ITS NO BIG DEAL...

WELL IT IS TO ME... OF COURSE IM ONE OF THOSE WHO  HAVE COPD/EMPHYSEMA...

SMOKING IS NOT AN OPTION FOR ME

IF YOU WANNA SPEND THE REST OF YOUR LIFE GASPING FOR EVERY BREATH YOU TAKE.. GO ON AND KEEP CHEATING, KEEP BLOWING YOUR QUIT...

THEN YOUR CHILDREN CAN JOIN YOU.. AND YOU CAN BE ONE BIG HAPPY SMOKING FAMILY

SET THE EXAMPLE TO THOSE SMOKERS YOU KNOW...

THIS IS THE TIME TO BE REJOICING THAT YOU HAVE FOUND THE STRENGTH TO BREAK FREE OF BEING A PRISONER.. AN ADDICT..

LIFT YOUR HANDS HIGH TO THE SKY AND THANK GOD FOR YOUR LIFE..

IF YOU'RE A BELIEVER IN GOD OR NOT... THIS IS A TIME TO BE FEELING THE POWER DEEP WITHIN YOURSELF THAT YOU HAVE WON.

NO MATTER WHAT.. YOU HAVE TO WANT TO NOT SMOKE MORE THAN YOU WANT TO SMOKE

MORE THAN YOU WANT TO PARTY.. MORE THAN YOU WANT TO HAVE JUST ONE HIT MORE THAN YOU WANT TO HAVE ONE LAST ONE IN 2011...

150 DAYS AGO I QUIT AND HAVE NEVER LOOKED BACK...

I DON'T GET A SECOND CHANCE..

PITY SMOKERS..PRAY FOR THEM.. BE AN ADVOCATE FOR BECOMING AN EX

TAKE MY HAND AND SAY I WILL STAY STRONG THROUGH THE REST OF THIS YEAR AND THE NEW YEAR TO FOLLOW AND PROMISE TO NEVER TAKE ONE MORE PUFF EVER... TAKE MY HAND AND PASS YOURS TO THE NEXT PERSON

SMOKING IS NOT OPTIONAL

DONT SMOKE

I'm new to the EX community with a quit date of 3/2012.  Reading this blog made me feel stressed out.  A trigger, and I did light up after a few minutes and am just trying to let it burn out while I type this.  I am going to come back and read this again on another day because what I got from it is that if you fail....you're a pathetic, weak person. Not everyone can quit with out stumbling, or even falling and having to start all over. It made me think that if I'm going to fail, then why even try to start with?  That could just be my mind giving me an excuse..... I do not beleive your blog meant for me to feel that way which is why I will come back another day and read it again. I want to quit. I need to quit. I know it will not be easy and I need to arm myself in every possible way.  I want this to be a positive uplifting experience.

to cldawson65.. first let me say welcome to the site..

secondly let me ask - why is your quit date 3 months away?

3rd, you are stressed out because you SMOKE still.

Have you read Allen Carrs book yet? The easy way to quit smoking?

Have you done ANY reading yet?

Since you're new here, I think you are feeling overwelmed with the whole quit process, at least thats how I felt.

Im going to tell you a bit about myself, Im assuming you read my profile before you posted this reply to my blog..?

When I first came to this site, I set my quit date too far in the future, (I think about 2 months or less) I sat here reading all these blogs, smoking during, and after, and every where I could smoke. It stressed me out too, because I knew I had to face my biggest challenge in my life, my 30 yr smoking addiction.

Everything these people said was true, I just didnt wanna believe it...

when my quit date got closer, I RAN, I left the site.

This is why Im asking why is your date so far away? In my own opinion, it might be best to have it within 2-3 weeks, just MY opinion mind you. Thats enough time to read enough about your quit and enough time for preparation.

By the grace of God I found my way back, with the help of someone here, actually.

I totally understand not everyone can quit qithout stumbling, may I say to you, this blog is NOTHING compared to some I have posted before, I say it the way it is, if you like the sugar coating type of blog, dont read mine lol

this blog obviously was not directed towards YOU, as I titled it, new quitters, you havent even quit yet.

But I hope to those who have, will find something useful from my blog.

Please read my profile *about me* section in order to know more about me and ,my own personal struggle. I in no way intended you to feel the way you do.

No one can make you feel anything, its YOU who allows yourself to feel emotions, unless they intentionally directed a comment directly to you personally.

Let me say again, this blog was posted to ALL NEW QUITTERS

not to ANY one who has a quit date set 3 months from now... I promise it was not directed the way you took it.

Having cleared this up... I would like to say again, welcome to the site.

You will come to know me as being down to earth, humble, easy to get along with, and your biggest cheerleader BUT

if you smoke, after you have quit, there is another side of me, which is the one you have already met.

Not all people here get along with me, nor will everyone get along with you, the beauty of this site, is that we can pick our friends who we feel we have a close bond with, a common addiction, smoking, and those who we can relate to. I hope you make alot of friends here and I wish you much success on your quit.

You can see from all of my previous blogs (if you go to my page) I am 100% positive, never negative... but I am bold and forth coming... and WIILL speak my mind when my friends "fail" or if they are "weak" in hopes to get them back on track. Look at the comments : "thanks for the reminder, getting me back on track"

sometimes the truth hurts.. sometimes a kick upside the head ( so to speak) hurts, I say it the way it is !!

please accept my apologies if I offended you personally in some way... it was not intended for YOU..

regards JoAnn

Hmmm, I had this long response written out that I did over several hours.  I guess I timed out and when I went to post...it didn't. I will try and make this quick.   I had originally put in a quit date of mid Jan and the site recommended 3/2012. I thought...they must know something I don't and went with it.  I agree that much of my stress comes from still being a smoker.  I have down loaded the book and started reading it.  I did not take your blog as a personal attack or directed at me.  I, like you, just wanted to express how it made me feel.  I did think I missed something in it , which is why I said I would come back and read it again.  LOL, I've had to stop and come back several times to this little post so I better quit and get it on there before I loose it again.

Thank you for your welcome and response!
